Unfortunately Flickr has recenty 'improved' their system so that it no longer works properly on a lot of computers. Just to rub it in, they superimpose a banner telling you that your browser isn't good enough for their system. The morons who do that sort of thing should be sacked on he spot.
What browser does it no longer work in? Intrigued to know!

Opera 12.16 and Firefox 16.0.2, the most up-to-date that my machine can use. I have also seen it also stuttering really badly on Google Chrome and an iPhone, but I suspect there may have been bandwidth issues in those cases.

Well, those are pretty old browsers. What is your machine? What OS? Those older browsers probably have horrible vulnerabilities, that could well be unfixable in any simple way.

On the subject of computers and browsers & such like I am totally clueless. My laptop came with Windows 7 and that is all I know.

I have to concur. Those browsers and, more importantly, the underlying operating system would be so riddled with security vulnerabilities that they are, most likely, infested with malware, viruses and the like. Your machine is very likely to part of a botnet, stealing financial information (including possibly your own details).

As someone who works in IT security, I would really urge you to consider upgrading your machine to a newer operating, such as, at least, Windows 7 or perhaps a Chromebook.

A lot of laptops now start around £150, so not an unreasonable cost.

It is a Macbook/OS 10.5.8
My office machine is a beige G3/OS 8.6 which has been running unprotected on the internet since 1999 and has never had a virus.

how do you know it's never had a virus if it's running unprotected ( i assume by unprotected you mean it has no antivirus / anti malware type software)

not all malicious apps can be seen by the user to affect said users machine ... they just run in the back ground stealing information

The wife and I were in Wilmington for a film this evening, and I saw a guy in a black kilt. He was a big guy, shaved head with a bushy beard, coming out of Front Street Brewery. I was wearing a black stretch rayon/nylon/spandex form-fitting, knee-length pencil skirt with a black print "Tommy Bahama" shirt and black flip-flops. I had changed my toenail color from the tomato-metallic "Crushed" to a shinier, lighter, metallic "Peach Daquiri". The sidewalk was crowded so I didn't attempt to speak to him; plus we were both with wives/lady-friends.

We were seated at a table outside, in a recessed portico which was shady and had a ceiling fan. Otherwise, at today's temperature of 97F, 105F heat index, it would have been unbearable. In my nearly two weeks in the southwestern desert, I didn't encounter any heat conditions that came close to being as uncomfortable as eastern NC. But the two Old Fashioneds I had improved my mood, plus the Cape Fear Raptor Center was out on the sidewalk with a couple owls, a barn owl and an eastern screech owl, which was pretty cool.

We saw "The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out His Window And Disappeared." It was the funniest film I've seen in ages and I highly recommend it to all.
As a matter of fact, the sun DOES shine out of my ...

In Christiania, Copenhagen, a man in a navy blue kilt. It had pockets on the outside on the front, and the seams were all in white thread to highlight them. It looked quite familiar: maybe someone has posted a pic of the same kilt here. Can't say I liked it much, TBH.

Christiana is a pretty "alternative" type of place, full of hippies and drugs, so maybe more likely than average to spot a kilt there. But even so ... A kilt in Denmark is a rare thing, I should think.

Didn't get a chance to talk to him, but that's life!
Keep on skirting,

Rare, yes, but it is also the home of one of our best advocates , Greg, who has a highly informative web site <dress2kilt.org>.
