Currently, hockey top, running trousers and sweatshirt. I've just finished playing hockey!

Time for a shower and a change. Maybe a skirt. Maybe not. Choice is good!

Okay, here goes!

Feeling schlumpy today... (Saturday, you know. Actually slept in my clothes from yesterday, and am grunging around at a friend's house, letting our kids play, and chatting over leftover turkey.)

Wearing my favorite camel-colored suede boots with a nice wide toebox and comfortable 2 1/2" heels. I can go ANYWHERE in these babys! (And you can hear me coming a mile off, because these heels are wooden!)

Stretch jeans. Dark blue Gloria Vanderbilts. Size 18, but starting to be too large for me now, so I also wear a belt. That's down from a size 26 last June. I got them for less than $5 at Value Village, where I do pretty much all my shopping.

Dark long-sleeved ribbled turtleneck sweater... sortof an olivey-mocha color. It skims nicely over my curves (I like to say it "clings to me like a long-lost relative"!) It doesn't show off any bumps it shouldn't, but it enhances where it should. I LOVE this sweater. I'm also wearing a necklace of pearls and crystals (fake, but who cares?) in cream and complimentary dark colors, arranged in a bullseye pattern that just hangs above my heart and accentuates the sweater perfectly.

Haven't done a THING with my hair or makeup. But my friends love me anyway.

Okay. That's the way I talk about clothes. You can see I get verbose. Clothes are a PASSION with me. And remember -- this was a GRUNGY day. If I need to pull it back some and pare it down to a simple list to keep it more appropriate to the board, let me know. Otherwise, on a day when I wear an outfit I'm really proud of, I might spend an eternity describing myself, and everyone's eyes will start to bleed trying to get to the end of my message.

Ah, well I guess it's not really that important. Everyone knows how to skip ahead if they need to. Thanks for letting me babble! :D

Pretty relaxed sunday morning. I'm wearing a box pleatred black and white checked mini with a pair of plain white cotton panties under and a grey Tshirt to match. I just noticed I'm accidentally colour co-ordinated.

brown tshirt, olive green pleated skirt (18 inches), brown sheer tights, low heels. Ah, the comfort. And a glass of 2005 Austrian wine to finish off. I like the sensual things in life to include my drink of choice...

Yes, Emmy, it is a bit long and verbose, so I shortened it a bit for you. I didn't change a thing or add anything. Just removed certain parts in a humorous fashion. PLEASE DON'T HIT ME!!!! Skip
Skip, my first reaction is that your teasing did hurt my feelings.

Maybe you think I'm too sensitive, but I don't like to look stupid, or to think that I made a big fool of myself when I was just trying to share why I chose the things I wore. I thought adding a little background would be more interesting than a simple list, and give my post more color and readability, and make me more human. I feel like the ways you teased me were humiliating and not complimentary or sensitive at all.

I made a point of saying I was nervous about entering this forum in the first place. I was encouraged to join, so I did. This ribbing would make me never want to post again if it were all the answer I got, or if it were typical of the sort of answer I were to expect. As it is, I feel like I ought to straight-jacket my posts from now on, or else begone.

I don't like feeling that way.

Maybe you only meant to be kidding for fun, and thought I had enough of a sense of humor to handle the teasing. Honestly, I do have a pretty good sense of humor normally, and enjoy a good joke, or any kind of play on words or general silliness. But I don't like teasing. I don't like being made fun of. My self-esteem isn't so rock-solid that I can take having my posts dissected and mocked without feeling embarrassed by it.

If the gist of your post was that you think I should have left out the descriptions and stuck to a simple list like everybody else, you could have just stated that with a simple one-line sentance that wouldn't have been funny, but also wouldn't have been mean. Just voicing your opinion or preference isn't mean. My opinion is that hurting someone's feelings for the sake of sounding funny is mean.

In the end, I think it was inappropriate of you to mess with my post at all. It feels rather like you've gone and grubbed through my underwear drawer. Something personal has been boogered around, and I haven't seen that on this board before.

The thing is, it's all pointless. As I stated in the very post you altered, if you hadn't liked reading long posts, you have the ability to simply skip me. Nobody can make you read my posts. Lord knows there are several members here that I don't bother reading. When I see them posting I simply skip down to the next entry. If I offend you, you can just do that.

All that having been said, I really hope this is just a long explaination to no real problem. I don't think we've ever had any bad blood between us. I'm not actually angry, and am perfectly ready to believe this is all just a joke gone wonky. I was going to put this in a private post, but then I realized there were issues here that were worth being discussed (or at least seen) by more than just the two of us.

Too bad it had to happen this way. Now I really probably won't post on this thread again. This really is embarrassing and sad. Not the way I wanted it. I only wanted to have fun.

For what it's worth, I didn't find it verbose - relative to a few perpetually longwinded posters on this site. In fact, it covered your thoughts fairly concisely.

But more importantly, congrats on the weight loss! That's a lot of sizes to drop in a few months. Hope you can get to a body that you're happy with, but please don't do anything dangerous. We want you around!

Emerald,
I for one liked your article, please don't let Skip bother you, his Internet connection isn't the best down there in the keys and these pages probably load very slowly --

Please continue with your contributions here and elsewhere, I truly enjoy your perspective!

Em, please don't pack up your things and go. I liked your post and, like Sasq. I am impressed with your weight loss. Forgive me but, I think you left yourself wide open when you accused yourself of verbosity therefore almost inviting Skip to play with it. Please take it as a form of gentle ribbing. Really it is more Aussie humour than what we have come to expect from that side of the Pacific.

Emerald, I liked your original post. It did not need any modification from someone who is not even a moderator. As long as the content is related to the thread it works for me.

While posting this I have on only my tight mid thigh cotton skirt (just woke up, and grabbed the first thing.)

How much I wish I could keep this skirt on, slide on some tights, with a nice shirt or sweater, foot wear, and wear that ensemble as a straight "normal" male, for the day.

Knee length denim cargo skirt again today with matching kilt hose and boots and a hooded fleece top - been to the bank, the health centre and the shops and not one person appeared to notice - I am discovering that a denim skirt really is a go anywhere garment - draws little or no attention compared to my traditional kilts.
