my reaction when the boot is on the other foot? Valid point.
The answer: I despair.
Though I thought did occur to me - make-up, high heels et al: original male items of clothing, worn by women to look more masculine and therefore be taken more seriously.
Maybe if, throughout history, certain men didn't belittle women, think they have control over women's bodies, minds and souls we wouldn't be having this converation.
It is 'certain' men, the "Mango Mogul" is a prime example.
I can only judge really from my own experience. My mum was a tough lady and made life hard for anyone around her. She would never have relinquished control of her body, mind or soul. She would happily have put me to work in the family hotel and taken it away saying "I owe you nothing". My sister had a lot of affairs and finally ditched her Scottish husband, she told me "if he wants to see his children he will have to pay".
My wife is a good person, she supports me with my love of skirts and will come out with me. It hasn't been a smooth path though. She is a feminist and has strong views.
Men have a role to fulfill and often don't fulfill it well. They are expected to support their families, go to war and die, take out the rubbish and investigate the bump in the night. I think if you are handed a raft of responsibilities and told to "fix it, you're supposed to be a man"; you are liable to go over the top and think you are in charge of everything.
All groups small or large need a leader, it could be women like my Mum, Maggie or Catherine the Great. They are out there.

My point is that most men are "ABLE" to wear what they want Modoc.
The fact that too many make a choice not to wear what they want is theirs and theirs alone.
Steve.
Stevie, we mostly agree. The ball is in the court of every man who feels that he is being denied the opportunity to wear what he wants because, as you point out, he really can. I tip my hat to you.

Thanks for the link Mouse. I might buy that and see if it fixes my hat.
I bought myself three french berets the other day in pale blue, green and red respectively. I really like the look of French berets.

Men used to wear hats with their traditional (trouser) suits.
Question for members-what styles of hats would go well with a man's skirt suit?

A baker boys hat or beret would look nice with a skirt suit.

The trilby or fedora would be a classical choice.

I’m really glad to see berets getting some love here. I’ve found a simple wool beret pairs surprisingly well with skirts, there’s something quietly stylish about it that just works, especially in softer colors like grey, navy or burgundy. Plus, they’re lightweight and easy to wear year-round.

I like to wear hats as long and they are feminine. Some hats give-off too much of a masculine vibe for me.

I would love some pictures Jamie001, have you ever done a thread in the Pics and Looks area?

I wear a hat most of the time outdoors, predominantly for sun protection most of the year and to keep my head warm in cold weather. Many sorts of hats and they all go with skirts. I don't have any "traditional" R.M.Williams hat or boots but I do have a R.M.Williams mini skirt which is quite untraditional for a man.
Mouse would hardly be noticed in his hat where I live but he probably would get some attention wearing a pink vinyl mini skirt ....... only because of the colour.

Well my hat is made in Australia by Barmah. Similar to kilts/skirts, most people call it a cowboy hat and I have to educate them, that my skirt is a skirt and my hat is a bush hat. Not that I bother most of the time and just let them get on with the joke or comment. The fact that I am worthy of interest and comment is a win for me, I have been noticed.
