Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

It boils down to economics.
The U. S. Mint has stated that the cost to produce a 'penny' is 3.5 cents, which is more
than the monetary value of the coin. Therefore, the 'penny' is being phased out.

Ive not used hard currency or written a check in years.
The last serious cash transaction was when I cashed in a pile of foreign currency at the exchange place at the DFW Airport, it was the sum of spare money after 20 years of international travel about $750 is memory serves.
