Women wear skirts. Women want men. Men wearing skirts are like women and therefore want men. A stereotype is born. :sarcastic: Never mind that both the first and second parts are not always true. The conclusion doesn't stand the test of reality either.iain wrote:I'm curious about the idea of gays in skirts though because I never heard of such a thing myself.
Gay men are men, some want to wear skirts and others don't. I'm sure our gay members here can attest to the same difficulties in finding a skirt accepting partner that won't worry they project an effeminate image.
Cessna, that is really neat that your thinking has come around like that. If only more people would listen with an open mind.

P.S. Welcome, Gregg!
I know exactly what you mean Stirttron. I loosen the belt when Im driving a distance and sometimes the left buckle on the kilt. So long as you remember to do them up again before you step out!skirttron wrote:I often wear my kilt to drive, but I must say it grips kinda hard round the gut and I would prefer an elasticated waist. Kilts, however, pass the Wife Test and skirts do not.
When I wear my kilts I have to admit I feel the same. I know I wear full mens trditional kilt outfit day or evening but the fact remains there is a change takes place when I get into my kilts. I'm not gay but have a few friends who are. Thay know I'm not but I have no problem socialising with them occassionally. About 10 years ago a femal work collegue who is gay told me she liked men in kilts and asked if I would go out with her for a day wearing mine. I agreed and had the best day for a long time.skirttron wrote:I must admit I have a bit of an effeminate bearing at times, and I have several times had gay men try to chat me up and had to give the gentle brush-off.
It helped me to understand and accept that we all have our different leanings but basically its whats underneath it all that counts. My wife never knew by the way.
