while I have used urinals while skirted, I tend to prefer the toilet.
I was just looking at Japanese toilets on the web recently and had to wonder how it would go being skirted over a squatter (the toilet type, not the land grabber).
I actually think it might go better than pants or shorts because, depending on the skirt material, you could gather it all up in your lap.
Bifurcated garments must be positioned down around the ankles.
Has anyone here ever used a squatter toilet in the Asian or Middle Eastern countries?

Many times (even in France).
One of the most barbaric methods of elimination ever devised by man. Tough enough to master wearing pants but I can't imagine using one wearing a skirted garment.

My problem with urinals, and the reason I never use them, is that they're poorly designed. How much thought does it take to realize that if you make them deeper than two inches, and add a bit of breakwater down at the bottom, you can completely remove the possibility of splash? Using a normal (american?) toilet is just plain easier, as you only have to hit a 1-foot oval, and not worry about splashing all over. Perhaps the urinal splashing would be less of a problem if not the fact that they seemed to all be designed for short guys. I'm not exceedingly tall, a bit over average maybe... which means, when using the urinal, that there's an effective head distance of several inches. Simple physics. The farther something falls, the more energy it gains, and thus in this case, the more it's going to want to slingshot back out.
Meh. Wheover thought the idea up just wasn't thinking straight, that's my take. Maybe there's effective ways around the limitations, but why are the limitations there in the first place.

"You get the one with the knobs"
For me, a bit of toilet paper to lay on the seat, and then sitting down takes all the guesswork out of taking a pee. Whether I pull my skirt up or if a straight tapered skirt, push it down to my knees, it's still a much easier way to pee without any undue observation by any possibly nasty young people and/or "set in their ways" old people. No one can see you in the stall and you can take as long as you like as most think you're taking a dump and that usually takes longer. I've not peed in a urinal since I was 22 and driving a taxi in Ft. Lauderdale Florida..tooooo much spray and splashback from others. Since I started wearing skirts in public I've definitely found it tons better to use the stall than the urinal. Mainly because they are usually open even when all the urinals are full. If all the stalls are full, I still never use a urinal, I "get the one with the knobs" as an old fellow once told me when I was young and really needed to pee in a Greyhound Bus station. I was about 21, all the urinals/stalls had lines waiting and an older chap, about 50, (that was old to me then) said, "you get the one with the knobs" and I've been having fun reciting and remembering that experience ever since. I'm now 64 and have been known to use the same line to younger guys. When you're in a big hurry to pee, using the sink seems not so impolite a move.

Re: The Unfortunate Necessary Visit
I have found myself in need and no toilet around. With a kilt, I have been able to simply spread my stance, hold the apron forward, and relieve myself easily and descretely. No muss, no fuss, no bother.

Re: The Unfortunate Necessary Visit
Thats an old post you saw, from at least 2006. She went into my paypal while I was vacationing in Las Vegas and robbed me of $3,836.00 with 32 transactions over 14 days. After I returned and saw what she'd done, I gave her a couple of choices, either pay back the money in full and get OUT, or I had the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) waiting to arrest her on Federal Interstate ID theft and felony Grand Theft. It took her 1 week to borrow the money to pay me back and get out. So she's no longer my or I hope anyone else's "Significant Other" A significant other is that person in your life you'd do nearly anything for, like a wife or a good friend, but not a thief. I supported her in full for 7 years. Anything she asked for she got. Free car, free housing, free food, free everything. She felt the need to rob me, I guess thinking I was too stupid to notice. She was wrong. Last I heard, she was living in a dumpster in Tennessee. Good place for her.

Re: The Unfortunate Necessary Visit
That's true, I sure would like to find a right'un before I croak. The last thing I showed Judy before she left was my ripped up last will and testament showing everything I own, my paid for house, my car, my bank account, was all left to her. She cried then, apologised again and begged to stay...THAT figures. People like that never give up.Still you are better off single than attached to a wrong 'un.
