Sorry if I am pushing you, but I think you would enjoy it and would gain an immense amount of confidence and satisfaction.
I took a trip back to Matalan and they still had my size in stock so I decided to buy the skirt. It looks beautiful on with my cherry red Doc Martens, a burgundy waistcoat, a black v-neck t-shirt and a pair of 100 denier black tights. I have to pull the skirt right up to my chest for to show my lower calves which is baffling because I am a tall guy with long legs.

I’d love to come down to London for a get together wearing my outfit but it’s a long journey from Dundee Scotland and I’ll have to see what my finances are like. If it was anywhere in Scotland it wouldn’t be an issue as I have a Disabilty bus pass that allows me free travel around Scotland. Anyway, I’ll have a think about it. Wearing skirts and tights in public definitely has improved my confidence and I always feel happy wearing those outfits.

Hey, Well done, outfit sounds great. We would love pictures, but only when you are happy to share, no pressure on that front.

Sorry, I didn't know where you were based in the country when I made the suggestion. I believe there are Scottish meet-ups from time to time. On the other hand a trip to the south could be nice for both you and your wife. The London meet-ups have partners attending as well as the MIS.

I'm not normally into maxi skirts, but my wife saw this thread it got her thinking. She looked through some other designs from the same range and spotted this:

Image

Imagine - she says - man on beach wearing this with masculine tee-shirt and sandals. Would look pretty much like a sarong at first sight? She reckons so. As sarongs on men are a non-event, this kind of garment could be the same.

I am going to Matalan tomorrow and, if they have any in stock, I will buy one.

Haha it looks like I’ve started a big interest on this skirt from Matalan. It looks like you have changed your mind about the skirt because earlier in the thread you stated that it wouldn’t be a skirt you would wear. Anyway, I’d say go for it. I bought that skirt myself today and it’s lovely and I’d imagine it will be very cool to wear on hot days. Funny you mention sarong as when I put it on I looked like a guy from the Middle East in it. The material is very nice.

Yeah I’d like to share a photo on here of me in the skirt but another side of me isn’t so keen. I’ll see what I can do and try and hold my big belly in

Yeah I’d love to come to London Town but my partner doesn’t seem that keen. I’ll see what can be done. I believe the last Scottish meet up was back in March but at that time I wasn’t a forum member. Hopefully one will be arranged soon.

Haven't traditionally been one to wear midi or maxi skirts but quite like the look of the ones in this thread. Would definitely be open to giving one a try.

Take a tip from the ladies -- if the hem is too long for the flash you want, roll the waist band a bit. I have a few skirts I need to do that... works pretty well, but you may need a loose shirt lest the fold will exaggerate those surpluses we wish we didn't have.

The thing is I really DO love the skirt and that’s why I wanted to share it on this forum. The only problem is that when I wear skirts I tend to wear skirts that are black or with darker solid colours though I love wearing my kilt from time to time. It’s the same reason I don’t wear fishnet tights or black sheer tights/pantyhose - I’d love to wear them but I fear it may draw a lot of attention (positive and negative) from the public.
As Mouse and Stu have already said....NOBODY CARES! I've been regularly out and about this summer season in floral printed dresses with low necklines, high heels, earrings and a purse on my shoulder, and 99.9 percent of the public don't so much as give me the time of day. You can't let the imaginary threat of drawing attention keep you from wearing what you like, when and where you like.
I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman.

Just taking Mouse's suggest to look at the web site and couldn't help noticing https://www.matalan.co.uk/clothing/roma ... 83933.html and thinking Mouse would rock that! (Maybe it's the boots??)

Thanks MrSoapsud for thinking of me. That is a very nice skirt and I do have a pair of maroon coloured heeled boots that would match it very well. Interestingly, it is another Roman skirt which is also available on the Roman site https://www.roman.co.uk/elasticated-mes ... t-17016895 The problem with the Roman site is that there are many nice skirts available there and they keep having sales. At the moment you can get 10% off everything on the site. I also have to be careful of buying too many skirts. I have bought several quite recently and I do not want to annoy Mrs Mouse. I will however keep an eye on it for any 50% of sales that may come along.

Now that skirt would look good with black fishnet tights :D

Hi

I called today at my nearest Matalan and they didn't have it in stock (although they did have the Paisley at £15, but I preferred the blue).

Oh, well, I thought. Never mind.

Then I saw your response and I followed the link. One is now on order with a 99 pence delivery charge - total £6.99. It should come in a couple of days. Looking forward to getting it.

Many thanks!

For a moment I thought that was the price of the skirt I already bought from Matalan and I was about to scream. Fortunately, it’s another skirt that is on sale at Matalan.

Anyway, I went into town today with my new Paisley skirt on and my black t-shirt mini dress on top and a burgundy waistcoat and black tights with my Doc Martens. So far nobody cared what I was wearing. Obviously if there any bad reactions I didn’t know about them. I’m feeling very happy after the day out in town with my Paisley skirt on.
