Egads, Richard, it seems like you're starting the year off at the bottom! Let's hope there's nowhere to go but up!

Richard,
Yes a bad start, but do not let it blight any of the future joys which may lie ahead for you and your own.
Steve.

Spent the eve in the streets of the village with a few friends and the wife swilling champagne from the bottle. Today Im planted in front of the TV watching football, remote control in one hand and the other tucked in the waist of my skirt.

My new year was a distinctly unskirted affair. Took the family to stay with friends in the south (Yorkshire) and was prevailed upon by Mrs SS and the children to take no skirts. So a few hours driving in jeans on Hogmanay, followed by starting the year as I do not intend to carry on, all day and most of the 2nd in trousers. There was much adjusting of clothing, pulling the inside leg seam on my jeans away from my crotch, wondering how the other guys could just sit there in apparent comfort. Not long ago it would not have bothered me in the least, but how perceptions can change in a few short months! Mrs SS doubts me when I say skirts are more comfortable than trousers, but there was no doubt in my mind by the time we got home!

Today at leisure, enjoying the Bank Holiday the English do not get :D and Mrs SS commented that it felt a bit odd, what with her being in leggings and me in a skirt and tights. "You'll get used to it" I said. (It's a fairly rare occurrance, as she wears skirts most days.) On a trip to the local car spares shop and supermarket, I was feeling more confident than ever in public and virtually oblivious to the incredulous looks. We all say a knee-length denim skirt is the least noticeable, but I'm not so sure about that when you pair it with maroon tights! *

A happy New Year to one and all, and a comfortable New Year to all men in skirts!

*(Note to self - time to post some more photos!)
Keep on skirting,

Alastair
