I don't think it's all that bad, and do recall that many -- if not most -- women have had semi-formal training in the matter from their mothers and various fashion mags that guys don't. Personally, I find it slightly more difficult to put together a proper and compelling skirted look than I do a trousered one; this is likely true because my own upbringing was completely and totally trousered once I got above about seven years of age (shorts being a common theme before then). However, just because something is "hard" does not mean that it cannot be done. Recall the famous words from a former President of the US in the early 1960s: "We choose to go to the moon not because it is easy, but because it is hard." I do not wish to trivialise those words, but they stand above quite a lot of noise in the general environment.Big and Bashful wrote:Eek! It's so complicated, no wonder women wear trousers!
I can sympathise with women who have decided to ditch skirts and dresses for trousers and blouses, for such a costume does simplify matters quite a bit and likely makes getting dressed in the morning a few minutes quicker. Getting something just right takes work and consideration; I know that I frequently have some notion of what I want to do the next day before I even retire for the night, but that's also in part because I wear skirts to work as often as not. Interestingly, when I find my mind wedged (for whatever cause) and I cannot come up with a good look I revert to trousers because it's "safe" (I also do this when depressed, although there is a strong correlation of not bing able to think and being depressed).
It's kind of hard to take photographs without a camera, and I know of no camera obscura DIY bits.Gmerc wrote:I'm having fun seeing what works for me & one day I might post some piccies - probably after I buy a camera!
