I am about to go and look after my sister's house and dog for 3 months and have just changed into a long denim skirt with two to the knee side slits for the journey. I call it a "tabard skirt" Comfy!

Lately I've grown attached to my new(ish) black, mostly wool, 8 yard kilt. Now I wear it most days at home.

That's a fairly smart look -- well done.

I like the skirt! it really suits you, it's very presentable. Have you worn it to work yet? :) I think other men in the office would consider this look (if they had the guts!)

I hope for a hot summer, and I might try this look for myself!

For mugman, I like that look. Once you start wearing kilts/simple skirts all the time it's downright difficult to wear trousers.

In my opinion Knickerless, only one tiny thing wrong with your look. The tie, I've yet to hear or see a reliable reason for a tie. Your "other" clothes dont look "boring" and men often wear a tie to break the overall dull boring look of modern officewear. Of course, the tie might be a requirement for your office, but if they don't complain about the nice pencil skirt I can't see them requiring the tie. I'd think a nice patterned sweater under your coat would give a better contrast than a tie. But, of course, this is only my opinion. Last time I wore a tie was for my High School Graduation picture and it was only a clip on. That's 50 years ago. I didnt wear a tie for any of 3 college graduations. :)
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Looks good to me. It is always a matter of personnel preference. I think that it is OK to wear a tie from personal choice, but NOT OK to be forced to wear one by others. Its the old TTT (Tie and Trouser Tyranny) that I am rebelling against. We have got to a point at work where several of us don't wear ties anymore unless we are meeting clients. I don't wear a tie at home. I hope that one day I will find courage to wear my kilt for work. Meanwhile I wish you all well in following your genuine choices.
Colin.

Quite agree with th tie comments.

I never wear a tie with trousers.

But if I am wearing a matyching jacket and skirt I quite often do.

I'm wearing what is fast becoming my "casual" outfit (at lieast in colder weather): 33" denim skirt, with a nylon slip and a turtleneck (kelly green today), and socks (blue today.)

In accordance with the Guy Code(tm), I made no attempt to make them match.

Tonight, before dinner and feeling casual, so a denim Levi overall dress over a plain white t shirt. It' s nice to have something hanging off the shoulders once in a while rather than cinched around the waist.

In women's fashion, a trouser skirt is similar to denim skirts, just with different fabrics and includes a fly and pockets

At least that's the way they're made over here
