For me it is fashion equality, I've seen women wearing skirts with "masculine" looking shoes, I've seen women wearing trousers with "feminine" shoes - women do not make such drama if the outfit is masculine or feminine or whatever.That is what makes them much more liberated in that area than most males, especially the "macho" ones full of hidden insecurity in their physical or mental (or both) masculinity that is expressed (the mentioned insecurity) through narrow-minded views on many topics and abuse to braver males (than they are) in the fashion sense.
