Nice black screen Stevie. you tube comes up but nothing but black screen shows..
edit...
My Java was loading when I tried clicking it before. Now it isn't and has shown me the "tupenu" wearing bandsmen. I've been to the Tongan Islands. That's some island of the "Republic of Tonga" where that band is playing. The garment is called either Tupenu or Tupena and consists of 2 separate skirts, one made of cloth and wrapped from the left hip around the back and front to the right hip where 2 strips of attached cloth come to the front and tie. Another skirt made of coconut palm leaves dried in the sun to turn beige/tan goes over the tupenu. Only men are allowed to wear the palm overskirt. The wider the overskirt, the more important/older the man wearing it is. A young boy gets his first palm overskirt at the age of 12 and its about 4 inches wide from top to bottom. A terrific culture the Pacific Rim countries have.
Tongans>>
By the way, if anyone is interested in the reason for all the white dress shirts and ties, nearly all Tongans are Mormons. In 1932 the Mormons started settling the Tongan Islands and setting the wheels in motion for the United States to take over protecting Tonga from any "takeovers" by England or Japan. Today, even though it's known as the "Republic of Tonga", it, like Puerto Rico, is a protectorate of the USA. But not, like P.R. owned by the USA. A Mormon Missionary in 1932 named Groberg taught a lot of Tongans how to play the trumpet, because trumpet playing was his hobby. Notice the abundance of trumpets in the brass band? That's where that came from. Nearly every Tongan born from 1950 to the present got trumpet lessons. Them's some LOUD islands. hehehe

Hey. Just a couple of corrections about Tonga...
Firstly, it's the KINGDOM of Tonga, or "Puleʻanga ʻo Tonga" in Tongan, they never became a republic, although the current King is making things a bit more democratic (may become a "UK style" monarchy) And they were a protectorate of the UK, not US, but not any more. American Samoa some distance north is what became a US territory.
And now, the "overskirt"...it's called a "ta'ovala", and you could think of it as a "waist-tie", and in situations where palangi (Westerners) would wear neckties, and always at church and celebrations, and at funerals, when wearing a tupenu one wears a ta'ovala as well.

Re: Skirted musicians - lots of them
Ok, when I was there in 1972 it was a protectorate of the USA. I'm glad to hear they got free of that and returned to the Kingdom they were since the beginning of time. As far as I know, they might have been a Kingdom AND a protectorate in 1972. After all in 1972 the Vietnam war wasn't quite over yet and the spread of Communism was threatening a lot more than it is today. I wasn't involved in the Gov. and only was aware of what I was told. I had no reason to not believe what they told me, I never got to talk to any King, I was just a humble diver with a film crew. Overall, we stopped at 5 separate Island groups. Did light filming everywhere except Majuro and Bikini where the bulk of our movie was shot. Same offer I made before is still in effect. Want a copy of "Deadly Fathoms" just pay the shipping into Paypal and I'll send you one. Ask "Milfmog" if it was an interesting movie.

Re: Skirted musicians - lots of them
My apologies for any misunderstandings. Anyways, interesting post....and the pic is definitely cool! I saw a pic of a Tongan band somewhere, wish I remember where, with a guitarist, trumpeter, and banjoist.
