A quote from my supervisor
A quote from my supervisor
"Conquering any difficulty always gives one a secret
joy, for it means pushing back a boundary-line
and adding to one's liberty."
-- Henri Frederic Amiel
Henri isn't my supervisor btw.

Re: A quote from my supervisor
That's a great quote!
Speaking of quotes, when someone quotes you from the Bible, and you feel the quote is absurd, you can ask them the following question:
"People being what they are, do you believe everything they write today?" Their answer will naturally be, "no, of course not."
"Then why would you automatically believe something written more than two thousand years ago?"
It's a good question and can't really be answered without them coming apart at the seams. We can all recognise and appreciate spiritual quotes such as you provided, because they stir something inside us. Just as we all know a good tune from a lousy one or a work of art from a hole in the ground. In that case, it's a shame to recycle ancient thoughts instead of using our own God-given inspiration!

The only thing man cannot endure is meaninglessness.

Hi Iain,
Good to see you here again, it's been a while...
Did you get any further with sorting out the exhibition of your art that you mentioned back in the winter?
Have fun,
Ian.

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

To keep from posting this rather long poem that I found with help from google.

Not all of it relates to us, but you can interpret however you will.

God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I Cannot change…
Courage to change the things I can
And Wisdom to know the difference…
