Tom's cafe?

Post by GerdG »

Hi

What has happened to Tom's Cafe? The archives seem to have dissapeared.

You'll have to ask Noodles about that; he's the chap at what was Tom's. (He's registered here, but sadly apparently only lurks.)

Missing Threads/Posts

Post by r.m.anderson »

Same thing happened at Bravehearts - it is like the board/administrators
are turning over a new leaf and starting a clean slate albeit a bit early
since New Years Day is about two weeks away. Sadly missed is the
history/previous threads to read if you missed reading them or just
something for reference.
A bit of common courtesy would be to explain why the change and the
opportunity to read the posts before they are no more!
Season's Greetings to all!

Common courtesy

Common courtesy by whom, R.M.? This is not a paid site where there is money to support keeping web sites open for years with no remunification for doing it.
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Terribly sorry that you feel that way - you are of course are entitled
to your thoughts in this forum as well as myself.
You have over 750 some posts and I only a few so I won't go into
an argument with you.
I agree with you on the merits of this being an UNPAID site and admit
I have not contributed (never have been asked and never volunteered).
The point I was trying to make was that if a forum is going to have
some changes done it would be nice to be informed about said changes.
Instead of being left in the dark - Is my computer on the fritz? Is the
web site up or down and for how long? Is there a virus that I should be
concerned about that might be the problem? There are numerous other
issues relevant...
A little communication never hurts. If it can not be done in advance of
the forthcoming change - then consideration should be done to making
a note as soon as possible to restore order to the forum. This may even
entail making comments on other forums as to what the interuption of
service is and other general frequently asked questions.
Sorry if perhaps my intentions were not crystal clear.
Recently the Atrium had a hardware failure and after order was restored
the administrator informed the interested posters of the problem.
Have an enjoyable Holiday Season!
