So many times people have started threads regarding what we are wearing as we reply to various other threads.

Well, for me at least, it depends on where I am. If I'm absorbing my employer's 'Net bandwidth, it's almost certain that I'm wearing tr*users (I've only worn a skirt into work once, and that was on a Sunday morning when the "boss class" was absent); if I'm anywhere else it's almost certain I'll be wearing a skirt. So, it all depends on context....

Yes, me too. I'm usually here during work break times, so it's trousers.

Working from home today. I'm wearing a long denim skirt, pocket T, and grungy old Capezios. Skirt is relatively new arrival. It's long, but feels good today since, after weeks of warm weather, it seems winter has finally come.

I've posited in the past that what's important is not what we're wearing when we reply to posts, but rather what we wore out in public today. It's sad, but the former does have a palpable connotation of "what did we wear in the closet today", and that's not what we should be doing. If we really believe that men should wear skirts, then we should be in the forefront, leading by example.

I'll have to admit that I finally pegged in on the survey as answering, "No, I'm wearing tr*users" mainly because it's so ruddy cold here at the moment (6 degrees F) that I just couldn't shove on a skirt when I got home. But, that said, I was out in my blue velvet skirt last night down at the local "watering hole" for "Super Bowl Sunday".

Well, just because I like a challenge, I walked to the library and back (1 mile each way) in a skirt early this morning. It was, I would guess, around 10 degrees F. I had on a lined 36" cotton skirt, plus a polartech ("fleece") underskirt, plus a nylon slip, plus tights. I also had a down jacket on. The only part of me that felt cold were my ankles. I'd meant to put on some thick cotton over-the-knee socks, too, but decided it was more trouble than it was worth.

I can't say that it was exactly "in public", because it was 4:30 a.m. (what can I say, I couldn't sleep.)

No, I'm not "out" in my village -- that will wait until my kids are out of the house.

P.S.: I voted "no I'm not." I'm posting from work, where I do *not* wear skirts.

Like AMM I have voted "No, I'm not" since I too am in the office (waiting for a computer to catch up again).

Although some of my colleagues are aware that I wear a kilt or skirt on occasions I have not worn either to work during regular office hours. On my own time is a different matter and a few colleagues have come in at the weekend to the (stomach churning?) sight of me in all my unbifurcated glory.

In a couple of weeks I will be flying to Barcelona on business with several colleagues, I am still debating whether to wear a kilt for the flights. I reckon it'll give those who don't already know something to talk about with our Spanish team when we get there . Somehow it feels like a big step, even though I don't make a secret of the skirts / kilts, I've never been inclined to advertise it at work.

My current feeling is that I may as well be comfortable (I have not flown anywhere in trousers since I discovered the comfort of skirts) and deal with any leg pulling as it arises but I'm not yet convinced that I won't change my mind.

That's way too much trouble already, IMO, especially with a negative wind chill. Might as well throw on some lined sweat p*nts...

Except for the tights, it took about 30 seconds to put on, and it's what I often wear around the apartment if I'm feeling a bit chilly. (BTW, it was a nylon half-slip.) The tights were some trouble to put on, though, and it was only the unusual cold that drove me to it.

If I had worn trousers, I would have needed to also put on long underwear to feel as warm as I did.

That's pretty much par for the course. The past few days I've worn tights (in the "heavy" US sense) because of the cold, and I've been happy to do so even if they do take more time to put on that the usual knickers and socks. It's really amazing how quickly an entire "outfit" (dang, there's that word!) can be donned once one arrives at what to actually wear; threre's no difference, really, between a skirted rig and tr*users.

As far as walking a mile to the library, and back again, in those temperatures, I suspect I'd have given it a miss. The rig did sound warm, though!

PS...I AM in the forefront, leading by example, still shouldn't stop folks from telling what they're wearing as they post!

OK, right now I've got on one of my black mid-calf-length heavy cotton skirts and a T-shirt emblazoned with this quote from Ben Franklin: "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy".

Yesterday, out and about on all sorts of errands and whatnot, I wore my long black tiered skirt, heavy black opaque tights (it's cold here), a dark plum shirt, and my red vest.

The bank I had to go to was very crowded, with significant chance of running into family (this was in my old home-town), and nobody so much as batted an eyelash (or at least it seemed so). Later on, as I was walking into another place, a young family group was walking in from the parking lot and the youngest daughter was exclaiming to her mother, "Look! That man is wearing a skirt!". I just looked over at them, smiled, nodded my head gently, and kept going. Kids can be so cute sometimes.
