Hovercraft - a silly thought

Post by Charlie »

Just thought I'd share this daft thought with you:

A hovercraft is fitted with a skirt to help it 'fly' more efficiently. Presumably, as with ships, the hovercraft is referred to as 'she'.

If the hovercraft was referred to as 'he', would they have fitted trousers instead of a skirt?

Charlie

(Who has nothing better to do and doesn't want to watch TV because it's so dull - except for the docu-drama about the Roman Empire - lots of men in skirts there :) :) )
If I want to dress like a woman, I'll wear jeans.

Boy, you are bored! Trousers would be tough, unless it was a twin engine...BTW watched Gladiator last night and has lot of men in skirts too.

De Havilland DH89 Rapides (1936+ small passenger twin engine biplane) were fitted with - "trousers"!!!!!!!!!!! Very risque, pre-WW2, I think! Despite that, probably the most beautiful biplane ever!

Many fixed landing gear aircraft have "wheel pants" installed. All aircraft are known as "she" as well...
