There aught to be a law!

I was deploying computers today at work and walked through the waiting area in the lab. As I passed by this guy sitting in one of the chairs, something didn’t seem to be right so I did a double take and then realized it wasn’t a guy at all but a woman (employee) dressed completely in men’s clothes. She had very short businessman like hair with a part on the left side, a man’s shirt, (buttoned from the right) pants that looked like Dockers and brown lace up shoes. I thought, “Now here’s a woman who looks so much like a male that I almost missed it”. But I bet if a guy came to work looking like a woman he’d be out the door! Now tell me who is discriminated against! They wouldn’t even let me wear my kilt to work!!!!

I've had the same thing where I work. There was a figure at the other end of the office, in a dark suit who I didn't recognise. The only visual clue that it was female was the ponytail. Having said that, we do have men wih ponytails, but they rarely, if ever, wear suits. I put her down as a cross-dresser (just so that the term is applied equally to women as to men, and therefore becomes non-sexist

)

Lar, your kilt was not considered "woman's clothing", so it didn't fall under "gender expression" statutes. If you wanted to make a case of it, you might get further being allowed to wear a skirt to work. just my two cents.

The only thing I could get from them is it isn't appropriate.

appropriate for what, base jumping?? Or perhaps bungee jumping off the San Francisco bridge? I can't see that traditional men's wear no matter what country it originated in is not appropriate for office work.
