I have taken some photos of myself in skirts but the images aren't to my liking as yet. Once I get the digital photography right (give me 35mm SLR any day!) I will post a photo or two.

to my liking

Post by Since1982 »

I'm going to add a picture of me now, in which I was 50 pounds heavier. It definitely wasn't "to my liking" but I'm not ashamed of it, I'm kinda happy that I have lost that 50 or so pounds with more coming off. When this picture was taken I had a 66 inch waist, now I fit comfortably in a 56 inch waist...and shooting for a 36 inch waist...~pray~ ~pray~ ~pray~ ~pray~

When I posted more, I did upload photos. Now that I don't post, or skirt as often, I don't upload any pics. I even posted an online guide to wrapping a sarong http://www.the-satirist.com/sarong.htm

Looking good with that weight loss going on. But I always thought you were a good looking, big man with a big heart and no matter how much weight you lose, I'll still think of you the same way...As a friend, and one of the brightest people I know.

No one would want to see my ugly mug (face).

But today, I did put on my GAP 'kilt' and enjoy my back yard. It was quite refreshing.

I still shoot with my 35mm SLR gear (Nikon) all the time. Whenever I do color print film, I just take it to the lab and have them make a CD for me, instead of prints. Cheaper, and everything's ready to go online after I resize the pics to a more reasonable size. Usually they're about three times the size of my 20" monitor.

I haven't posted a picture yet, main reason is I am too large for my kilt and at the moment I am failing to lose weight. I wouldn't be worried about someone from work or family or friends seeing a picture of me kilted, but if work found out I wore skirts it wouldn't go down very well, apart from that I haven't got any yet.

Of photos, search engines, and evil

It's not so much Tom's, as it's search engines and the way folks use them nowadays. Employers, and prospective ones, routinely "google" for employees to see what they're up to in their off-hours (it shouldn't matter one whit, but...), and in looking myself up (just to see what was out there) found, much to my dismay, some of the articles I've posted here -- what sort of message is that going to send to an HR droid (or a manager "out to get" someone)?

I'm not normally paranoid, but in this day of virtually infinite access to information and no controls over what's available and no expectation of even simple privacy some of the capabilities give me the willies. Making matters worse, all this stuff is archived where nobody has any control over it; if I was embarking on a job search I could ask that pictures be temporarily pulled (and they probably would be) but they'd still be on the archive sites and available to folks who I'd really not have a clue because they'd not understand any of the context -- and I'd never get the chance to explain to them why it doesn't matter.

Google may state that they "do no evil", but they sure facilitate others' evil doings. I'm not bashing them specifically, there are hordes of other ones out there, but they're a nice big target.

I like the canonical version of that line, but it's not something that's usually used in "polite company".

There are lots of things all people have, some are not polite, some are polite. I could have used "eyes, noses, mouths, chins, foreheads, feet, knees" etc. or some other things that are not polite. I prefer to be polite all the time, plus I like the part I made up about Michael Jackson, so this is the way I use that particular instructional comment. "Opinions are like noses, everyone has one, even Michael Jackson, while his is plastic, it's still his bought and paid for nose" :tomato: :shake:

I don't have the foggiest notion how to post a picture, even if I did have a picture to post.

here I was before losing 50 pounds. And you can add as many pictures as you like, just keep going back to the attach screen, browsing for the next picture and uploading it.
