cosplay their Rambo-ness
Trump is demanding his staff to represent how all males should dress and be masculinely. Is a threat to skirtcafe. These so-call traditional values really threatens males to be something other being than a real male. A man has to be a true male to himself, not cosplaying into something he isn't. Directing how we males should act and dress. This no more than brain-washing and I learn in grade school this is bad. We need to be real to one another. Cosplaying in roles isn't going help in gaining other person trust in us.

Trump is a douchebag dictator with a God complex. He has been labeled as the Antichrist by Catholics and many Christian denominations. He will be impeached or self destruct, hopefully before he does more irreparable damage to America. Hopefully more men will see the light after witnessing Trump’s antics over the past several weeks.

Jamie,
You're treading in VERY thin ice. Your 'comment' has no bering on, or for, M.I.S.
This type of political discourse is strongly discouraged by the Cafe' rules.
90%+ of Americans voted for him, to keep America growing. He is not dividing
people as you portend. Any further denigration of the POTUS will result in
an official warning. You get three of them and you will be banned from Skirt Cafe'.
This goes for mr seamstress, too.

I don't want to get involved in the political debate but I wish to strongly object to a moderator claiming statements of fact which are blatantly untrue.
According to Wikipedia, 49.8% of the 64.1% of Americans who voted in 2024 voted for Mr Trump. That is a long way short of 90%+. I would also argue that he is dividing people across the world but that's a more subjective comment.
I suspect our dear-departed senior barrista would have had something to say on your "alternative facts" as well.
Re: cosplay their Rambo-ness
Sorry and I apologize for my "error" yet some people can't accept the fact that he won the election.MrSoapsud wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2026 10:04 am

He's trying to get America back on track yet it takes time for programs to work. He can't do it
'over night' as some people hope. He's cutting a lot of Red Tape so small businesses can get started
and not be pushed out by large companies.
He did receive 77,303,568/49.81% of the votes cast by the American people of voting age.
In any case, Skirt Cafe' is not the place for this type of discussion, maybe other forums, but not here.

This is why I decided to opt out of this site. The first time I log in since and I find the same again. Uncle Al is entitled to call out users for politics - these are the rules after all. But he doesn't stop there. He breaks the rules himself by promoting the orange war criminal in this case with faux news about voting percentages. Trump is a danger to all liberty including (as the OP asserted) the right of men to wear skirts. You have to allow your phone to be checked for anti-Trump content before you are allowed into America. How would this affect men with Skirt Cafe history because Donald doesn't approve of us? Trump IS an issue for MIS.MrSoapsud wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2026 10:04 amI don't want to get involved in the political debate but I wish to strongly object to a moderator claiming statements of fact which are blatantly untrue.

Re: cosplay their Rambo-ness
I’ll never be allowed into the USA at this time due to comments I have posted about Agent Orange on other social media.
That’s fine by me. The USA is a rogue state and I cannot support rogue states.
That’s all I’ll say on this matter.

I will take my first strike as read AL, so don't get your panties in a knot.
There is a marked parallel between Trump ,MAGA and Hitler's "Lebensraum" promises to the German nation in the 1930s.
One major difference, humans did not have the capacity for mutual annihilation and now we do.
In the face of your esteemed POTUS bring us to that point, none of what we say here matters anyway.
On a cafe level, you may be the one that may be the one to turn off the lights and lock the door behind you!
Is that going to be your legacy?
Steve.
PS so good to hear from Rivegauche, just a pity about the circumstances.

Thanks Stevie. Might stick around for a bit. Depends how the Trump fiasco plays out on this site with a moderator who does not play by his own rules and does so with a blatant lie. This is abuse of moderator privilege.STEVIE wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2026 3:29 pm I will take my first strike as read AL, so don't get your panties in a knot.

Re: cosplay their Rambo-ness
A few of points of information:
1 ) I was wrong with my percentage - I admit that error.
2 ) The numbers I used are not FAUX NEWS as some people claim.
3 ) My source is The American Presidency Project - UC Santa Barbara
from a Google search, "how many people voted for President Trump in 2024"
4 ) This sticky area (Politics) has come up before and was heavily discussed, in the back room, with Carl.
He told me to "let it ride, these things usually get back on track on their own".
5 ) There are always 2 sides to every story. The side that yells and screams loudest, usually gets tended to first.
6 ) Some of the political posts are "Bait", to see who will "join-in" the debacle.
7 ) I was a member of Tom's Cafe' before the "split". That "split" is what created X-MARKS THE SCOT and Skirt Cafe'.
8 ) I believe "The Rules" are in place for a reason.
9 ) Rule #2 is constantly being pushed to the limit.
10) I've been yelled at, by members, for upholding Skirt Cafe's rules. This is worse that trying to herd a bunch of cats.
11) I don't post often but if I post something to 'uplift or bring humor' to the Cafe', members have responded that
my posts are not welcome here.
12) At 75 years of age, the freedom to choose the type of clothing we prefer, is a goal I try to uphold.
Granted, your choices are not necessarily the same as mine. This is true for everyone here.
So, Please - PLEASE, knock of the politics.

Re: cosplay their Rambo-ness
I like to look masculine - I reject the feminine. I want a skirt to compliment, not detract from my masculinity.
I think of skirts the same way as some men regard long hair. Most men have short hair - shorter than most women. But some men maintain a mane of long hair while preserving a masculine look. That's how I wish to look when it comes to skirts.

Re: cosplay their Rambo-ness
This is an attitude I don’t understand and why people get fixated on what is masculine and feminine. Clothes are clothes, they have no inherent gender whatsoever. Because if they do, what’s feminine about a skirt or a dress? That relies on defining feminine. It’s a bit of cloth. Masculine and feminine are entirely invented, there is nothing natural about it. It would really be better as a society if we ditched the fixation with these terms and for people to exist as humans in whatever form of expression they want , because it’s actually meaningless nonsense at its core.Stu wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 10:03 am I like to look masculine - I reject the feminine. Re: cosplay their Rambo-ness
Thank you Steamman for posting my exact thoughts. Masculine and feminine are ridiculous concepts. The sooner society ditches these concepts, the sooner we will have true equality between males and females. Why do some people in this forum keep bringing up this concept of having to look masculine? It does not help our cause at all! Psychology tells us that those people are insecure in their identity. Skirts, clothing, makeup, shoes, and other fashion items do not have a gender. The sooner that we get over that dated puritan draconian concept, the sooner we will make progress as men in skirts. Can we all please as members of the Cafe, just abandon this concept?steamman wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 3:20 pmThis is an attitude I don’t understand and why people get fixated on what is masculine and feminine. I'm all for rejection of labelling of men and women, masculine or feminine. Buuuuut..There are undeniable differences between men and women and not just physically.

I had enough after he got republicans onboard with the idea of gun control on the basis of mental illnesses.
