Uncle Al, maybe the next thing to gain traction will resemble a pinafore. As I recall, you started a thread about something along those lines.

I think it was a discussion about Skirtalls.
Bib overalls converted into a 'pinafore' style dress.
The current offerings lack the proper pockets of bib overalls.

Here's an example, with decent pockets.

Personally, I'ld prefer a longer, knee length or below the knee, with
a more A-Line flair to the hem. The units that are for sale, on-line,
are, IMHO, for a young person. Not something useful on a daily basis.

I am too old to get the buying of distressed/ripped versions of clothes, even when they are new....
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

Agreed. Rubbish is rubbish. Put it in the bin where it rightfully belongs.

Grok may be referring to the Greek/Albanian fustanella as his "hungarian" target -- and that's entirely valid as the fustanella has a longer history than the Scots Kilt, especially the "Little Kilt" (which is shockingly modern). It's a fair bit fancier, too!

The example I pictured, was to show the proper pockets for the garment.

Not the distressed look. That can come naturally with general use of the garment.
I was not referring to a Fustanella from Greece.

Here you go: https://tovewear.com/shop?category=Farm%20Dress and https://tovewear.com/shop?category=Trade%20Dress

(not inexpensive, though)

I imagine there are others out there.

I have similar preferences in terms of length and flair.

I have a strong preference for decent pockets. At a minimum, accommodating wallet, keys, phone. This preference has severely constrained my choices.

Though there's more AI images generated, there's a lot more to see amongst GenX and Z, and sightings on warm days more likely. It's still niche,

I'm surprised that there's no mention of an increase in older/elderly men wearing skirts and kilts. In my case, I'm 63 years old and been wearing skirts inside and at the back of my property for years. But, I'm feeling more motivated to go out with my kilts as I see more and more people my age taking the leap of faith. I think as one gets older, the "to hell with it" becomes stronger.
