Any pattern suggestions?

Post by Coder »

I plan on making this skirt with some denim/canvas material for the summer:

But I just picked up a couple of yards of silk (Dupioni Silk) in a mustard/gold and a striped teal/gold. Both are amazing, and I need an appropriate pattern. The fabric, being super thin of course, would need to be lined in some way to give it structure - I don't like wispy skirts. Before I take this question to Reddit, any suggestions?

I have just posted about a man in a skirt who has a sewing channel where remake various patterns up for himself and models the finished result. viewtopic.php?t=25941

I am using a McCall's 7022 pattern, which I think is too flowy for what you want, but this channel makes up many patterns and shows them on a man. You may find one that works for you.
