And a belated Merry Christmas from the frozen north, didn't skim stones, but me and Susie had loads of fun.
Alas, you have to make do with my ugly mug.
Steve.

Sorry for my English. I try not to make spelling mistakes, but for this reason my writing is very slow.

PF 2026 (Re: Christmas greeting 2025)

Post by miloshlavka »

I wish You all and Your near and far all the best for the New Year 2025, especially fair peace, health, happiness, contentedness. And, of course, a hope for the future and a force and a courage to do something for it.

For those, who are using calendar different from the Gregorian one:

14th January 2026 - New Year according to Julian calendar (still used for example by the Russian Orthodox Church)
17th Feruary 2026 - Vietnamese / ChineseNew Year- - Tết Nguyên Đán, 农历新年 , 農曆新年 (year of the Snake)
21th (maybe 22th) March - Nouruz - Persian (zoroastric or bahá'istic) New yar
16th June 2026 - 1st muharram - Islamic New year 1448 from the Hegira (and the Ramadan 1447 will be from 19th February to 19th March 2026)
11th September 2026 - New Year 2019 according to Ethiopian calendar
11th -12nd September 2026 - New Year 5787 (Rosh Hashanah - Rosch ha-Schana - רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה) according to Hebrew calendar

For translations of wishes into languages that I do not know (that is, for the vast majority of them), I used an internet dictionary glosbe.com (more precisely: I did so already in previous years, so now I'm already describing from previous wishes), partly I used (mainly for checking) the Yandex translator (translate.yandex.com -English interface, translate.yandex.ru -Russian whether translate.yandex.ua -Ukrainian interface has unfortunately stopped working after Put-Put-Put-Put-Put-Put-Putin's invasion of Ukraine).

My greeting in better resolution (together with my older ones) is here: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/BLhR/ziH1Qk8Cm - there is also xcf file editable in GIMP (so that it is possible to use parts of my greeting for Your own one - using CC BY 4.0 license).

For Skirtcafe participants from Australia, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Fiji etc.: Sorry for too late post.
