Hello from South Africa
Hello from South Africa
Thanks for allowing me to join a forum of likeminded people who I'm sure will serve as a motivation to ultimately lead to my progression from wearing skirts at home, kilts to functions to openly going into the public space with no care of what those around me think. I also hope folks can help me find retailers or manufacturers of reasonably priced skirts for men. I haven't been able to find any here. But there are a few abroard. And I'm not going to pay thousands for a casual skirt.

Welcome.
For reasonably priced skirts, just think of yourself as a person. Thrift stores have plenty of low-priced skirts that are good for anyone they fit.

Hello SeanSkirt and welcome.
Most of my skirts, I buy from Amazon, and as Jim points out, don't bother about what a skirt is labeled as, if it fits me, it is mine.
If you post a couple of more times, your username will turn blue and the next time you log on, you will see more of the cafe. One area is members pictures and quite often, new skirts shown have online links attached to them to help others buy a similar skirt.

Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

As others have already mentioned there are a few online retailers for "mens" skirts but most tend to be pricey compared to what is available on the other side of the aisle. As well as Amazon there is also ebay and on both of these you will find both budget kilts and skirts but of course you get what you pay for.

One more long & full-time skirt wearing chap; I echo the prior sentiments -- there ain't no such things as "men's or women's" skirts -- the labels are only another "box" -- your choice to stay in the box or move beyond it. We were in South Africa in 2012, and though there only a few days we travelled from Jo-burg to the southern coast; and then through Botswana to Zimbabwe and back over a couple of weeks, mostly wearing skirts with nary a problem.
I probably have 150 'active' skirts and I'd guess 90% came from Goodwill type thrift stores; a few from my wife; consignment shops; and rarely -- a sale item that catches my eye. It sound like you may not quite be there yet, but shopping for and buying skirts in thrift shops with changing rooms to try them on is a truly easy and useful practice -- you can "fake" it you want -- "buying for a custom party; a disabled friend....but coming in your own skirt and owning your choice is the most rewarding.
