We had 300+ in a town of 7800 so that was nearly 4%. I was very tempted to skirt up, or at least kilt up, for it, but opted for shorts. There was plenty of hostility and accusations of mental illness directed at the gathering, I didn't want to give them something to focus on.

And to add to the top level topic, was wearing my favorite black cotton skirt to grab the mail up at the street and there was a letter in there intended for my next door neighbor...out here in the country that's a good 3-4 minute walk  and I was already up at the street so I walked it over to her mail box. Another neighbor who is usually not that friendly was pulling out of their driveway and saw me do this and waved and smiled as they drove past. So that was nice!

Actually, the only rally/protest that does any real good occurs in early November of even numbered years.

Had a good day in Whitby today - skirted of course. Full length, pleated and subtley flowery. :)
Is this the right place to post that?

Spent a lovely couple of hours in the sunshine with a cooling breeze blowing at a local National Trust property today. Different skirt from the Whitby one two days ago but the description fits well. After decades of fear and anxiety I am conquering my ghosts at last. - and this forum is being a significant help - thank you!

Had an extremely warm April Day here in Ontario Canada yesterday. 15 degrees Celsius. That is 60F for our American friends. Was out for a hours walk through town in my Gunn kilt then spent time with the neighbours around a fire on the beach wearing a mid-thigh blue A line skirt. It was a wonderful day to be out and about skirting.

Eborian, I'm from Torquay myself. Babbacombe and then St Marychurch. I live in Reading now (mores the shame). Torquay was such a great place in the 80s.

I took a 6 hour road trip to and from an event this past week. I could not wear skirts at the event, but wore skirts for my drive each way. On the way there I wore a maxi length brown tiered skirt, and on the way back i wore a long black skirt that was decorated with little eyelets. Each way I made several stops for bathroom breaks & gas. On the way back I stopped at a Tanger Outlets & did some shopping.
Once again, I was wonderful to get out in a skirt!

Out in Weston-super-Mare for an appointment. Wearing a denim skirt, grey polo shirt and black shoes. Too warm for tights today.

About a week ago, my partner and I were at a local pool, where a couple with a young child was also there. After getting dressed to leave I was waiting outside the mens area for my partner to finish in the womens area when the mother of the young child approached and said that she wanted to thank me for wearing a skirt because she was glad that her son could see a man wearing one and know that it was ok. I thanked her for her comment and almost asked if her partner, the child's father, I presumed, ever wore skirts or if they ever dressed their son in one. I decided not to, and about that time, my partner emerged, and a whole conversation between them followed about diversity and child rearing. I could have done without that but she's much more a people person and talker than I am. Maybe it's good to have someone who makes me look less strange.

How cool is that! I would have been beaming from ear to ear after an interaction like that.

Monday morning I took my wife to a doctor's appointment and by chance we happened to both be wearing skirts. Mine was a rather ordinary black denim one from Duluth, a little above the knee. We have the same doctor and while she was in with him, I was in the waiting room and did go up to ask about a referral I'd gotten last time I was there, so the office staff definitely noticed what I was wearing.

At the end of the appointment the nurse walked us over to the radiology office, even though I said I knew where it was (it's literally 40 feet away). As we were were walking the nurse nodded her head just a bit towards my knees and asked if we were going to breakfast after the appointment or something special. At the time I thought it was just small talk but later realized maybe she was curious if there was some reason we were both wearing skirts, like we had some quirky old person get-together to attend. My own appointment is coming up in a few weeks and I'm definitely going to wear a skirt then too.

Later at home I was getting lunch together and my wife said my skirt reminded her of a skirt she used to have and asked if she'd given it to me. I had to laugh because I wear this skirt maybe once a week and I guess it just didn't register. :o Then she said "I guess we could wear matching skirts sometime" with a bit of a chuckle and I told her that would be a lot of fun. I think every time we're out somewhere and people act like my skirt is a normal thing it raises her comfort level. I'll need to figure out some kind of matching skirt thing now as a surprise, maybe I can find something Disney-themed on Etsy, or matching kilts. Life has been pretty heavy this year with bad medical news, it'd be good to introduce some levity when I can. :clown:

It was a very cool experience. Goes way beyond the infrequent "I like your skirt," which is about the most I get.
