Ah you are both so sweet :flower:

With reverence to the item of discussion, A few years ago I thought it a good idea to buy a similar black kilt with purple tartan in the folds, in place of the green. It was not an expensive purchase, which is maybe where I went wrong, but the black material was much stiffer than the tartan. This gave a very odd result when wearing the thing, as the kilt didn’t move as a kilt normally would. Bits of tartan would end up folding outside the pleats giving a very odd look.

I am sure a well made version using similar type of material for both the black and tartan would fair better.

A little late to the party. I completly forgot it was st. paddys day and dressed in all black yesterday - earned myself a nasty pinch from my wife I did.

I better put some saving towards Ozkilts st. patricks kilt. I quite like the look of it.

(In retrospect, I of course could have at least worn my green leggings or one of my 3 green tunics/dresses)

Seb, OzKilts are located around the border at the southern end of the Gold Coast, about 100km south of me.
I have two of theirs, one hybrid with purple insets and one black, they are quite heavy cotton and well made, much better quality than the cheap Ebay stuff, and they're pretty quick to ship from their warehouse (wherever that is I'm not sure). All the prices are $AUD. ($AUD 1.00 = approx $USD 0.63).

I didn't do anything yesterday for St Paddy's day, didn't even enjoy a couple of Guinness... And I am a member several times over of the 100 pint club..
Too much going on with a 2 year old here plus a bit limited following wrist surgery.

The kilt in the original post is ok but looks more like a costume to me.

Thats nice to hear! They have good reviews but hearing first hand is nicer. I have been looking at both ozkilt, vanguard and dnke to buy one or two when I've saved up enough for it. With the circus in the white house, Australia is looking like a much better option anyway. Prices are fair too.

Wore my Irish kilt out and about all day during St Patrick's day. I got no comments at all. Maybe people are getting use to seeing me out skirting.
