On calculating hem lengths of kilts I applied the same to my new mini skirt. A skirt 14" long with a 32" waist would have a hem length of 3.3 yards if it was a circle skirt but actually has a length of 5.2 yards so it is not quite a double circle skirt.

Interesting, what kind of fabric is it? Does this also negatively impact its twirlyness?

The skirt is 100% viscose which twirls well and moves nicely when walking. It has a lining which has much less flare so perhaps this stopped the breeze taking hold. I should try it with the lining hoisted up under my shirt to test this theory.
