Caught in the wind in Stockings and suspenders (garters)
I finally managed to track down sheer black stockings at my local M&S and wore them with a suspender belt (garter belt) and trunks (boxer briefs) under my long black midi dress and a long trench coat with my usual preferred footwear of Dr Martens.
The first day I wore them out in public there was strong gusts of wind and whilst walking into town for my daily shopping and walk a strong gust of wind managed to raise my long midi dress and coat to reveal my stocking tops and suspender belt to the public. It was so embarrassing even though fortunately (as far as I know) there was no reaction from the public but me and my partner had a good laugh over it when I got home. It was like something from a Benny Hill sketch.
Anyway, the stockings I bought are far more comfortable than tights due to there being no gusset and the suspender belt holds them up better than the stupid gel on holdups. It was a really good soothing feeling wearing them in the wind and I got the same sensual experience I get with sheer tights pantyhose but without the discomfort of the gusset.

Skirts can cause a lot of fun in life .......... might have been a boring day in pants.
My name is Anthony, please accept me for the person that I am.
Re: Caught in the wind in Stockings and suspenders (garters)
It is "windy season" here -- we typically have a period of 2-4 weeks in Nov-Feb where we get frequent winds and gusts. I get 'reminded' then of the nature of some of my skirts being more inclined to fly up; but one of the 'tricks' I have found is to use thigh high socks -- no garter needed, though they do tend to slip some during the day and need an extra tug now and then -- but the fabric not only helps reduce the fly-away effect of the skirt, it provides a much longer distance before you flash any flesh, providing a bit more 'relief' even it the wind does send the hem upwards.
Another version of Anthony's comment -- I've exchanged smiles more than once with ladies who have seen me struggling to push a flyaway skirt down when my hands are full -- they too have been there, and it is a 'knowing' smile -- kind of nice.

I love wearing stockings with a good quality suspender belt. Stockings make bathroom trips easier than tights.
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

I have some knee high socks that I’ve made from old black thick opaque tights that are quite good but they do slightly slide down.Faldaguy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 5:13 am It is "windy season" here -- we typically have a period of 2-4 weeks in Nov-Feb where we get frequent winds and gusts. I do love the feel of skirts and nylons in the wind and skirts (and dresses) do look awesome flowing in the wind while wearing them (that’s when they aren’t blowing so high to reveal my knickers). )

Yeah, stockings and suspenders feel so good. I love the slight tugging feeling from the suspender belt when I’m walking - it’s very therapeutic. Toilets trips are indeed easier but if I’m wearing tights I just pull the the top part down when doing a pee.

May I recommend that you check the different manufacturers of tights/pantyhose to seeDrFishnets wrote:<snip>

how wide and long the gusset is. I'm no longer able to get Neo-G support(compression) hose,
but, if you can find some in your area, they have an excellent long and wide gusset.
(They were designed for both women and men - unisex.)
It is a smooth nylon/microfiber material and is VERY soft. I have no problem with their
gussets. The problem I have is, since losing 70 pounds, they slide down on me
Check with your local department store's hosiery area. The sales clerk might be of
great help in finding P-hose & tights with a wide, and long, gusset.
(Never hurts to ask - - )
Many of the regular tights I've purchased from Amazon(Silky Toes, G&Y-fleece lined, Hue)
are black-out tights and very comfortable to wear. Gusset is large and soft
If you shop at Walmart/Tesco, the JOYSPUN brand of tights fit really good, too
Just a couple of suggestion, from personal experience.

Re: Caught in the wind in Stockings and suspenders (garters)
I prefer garters and suspenders to tights and leggings myself. The look of tights and leggings is probably cleaner and would be less of an issue but I don't like the extra material of leggings and tights. I even tried some of those cut-out tights, which were okay, but none come in a fabric or pattern I like.

Thanks for the recommendation Uncle Al. Unfortunately, I don’t think Tesco in the UK sell Joyspun tights but I can look. I know now to go for tights and pantyhose with large soft gusset. I wore a pair of sheer black gloss pantyhose tights I bought from Primark and they seemed to stay up and felt comfortable but after my walk and shopping spree when I got home I ripped a small hole in the gusset when sitting down.
