Skirts in foreign lands

I have not had any negative comments made to me in all this time....

So if anyone is still not sure about wearing a skirt in public I say go for it, because as it’s been said on this site so often the public are not mothered by it, yes they double take but generally are not bothered any more.

Thanks for the encouragement Paul, and I totally agree. Especially in warmer places in summer (like here in Spain) where nearly every guy is wearing shorts, skirts are much less noticeable anyway because bare legs are normal. Spain is quite a cosmopolitan country nowadays - at least, in cities and more urban (younger) places.

Paul you are either feeling guilty or have a suspicious mind. I was not doubting in the least, just hoping you could provide those still struggling to get out in public a vision of just how normal people around find things. Relating our experiences is helpful, and the old cliche, a picture is worth a thousand words... just helps the newbies s bit more. Glad you have been able to enjoy your skirts in public and have shared.

Tonight I’ve been the most bravest by wearing a short flared black skirt and black sheer tights going down to dinner, and I’ve been amazed how I’ve been totally ignored by everyone it’s been a fantastic week in the sun and I am so proud that I have been brave enough to spend everyday wearing a skirt, I don’t own any dresses because of my belly they don’t give a good look.

That is my dream outfit is black sheer tights and I’ve been wanting to wear a pair of 10 denier black sheer tights since I have went out in public wearing a skirt and dress but so far it’s been black leggings or 100 denier black opaque tights with my skirts and dresses as I’ve not plucked the courage yet to wear sheer tights. It’s reassuring to know that you plucked the courage to wear a pair and had no issues.

I have a bit of a belly myself but I wear t-shirt mini dresses but it’s usually covered by a coat or jacket.

I’m not feeling guilty but yes I am naturally suspicious, I think it’s most men’s fear who wear skirts of being photographed and their pictures plastered all over social media for their amusement. I respect everyone right to privacy and in my opinion it’s also the same for anyone in the public eye who also are entitled to privacy, I did take a picture the other day with the public behind me, but since then after a lot of thought I decided against uploading them.
I’m the first to admit that wearing a skirt or dress in public surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of people whilst on holiday is 100% easier than wearing a skirt out at public at home where you could bump into people who know you The chances of being recognised abroad is virtually zero, but obviously you constantly have the threat of some bigot filming you and uploading you on social media which could destroy your life.
In my experience this last 7 days is that the public is non-plussed about it, curious yes, mildly amused yes, but overall not bothered. I think in my opinion we have the Transgendered people to thank in an indirect way, because of the amount of publicity they generated over the last few years have got the public used to it to a certain extent, and probably if they see any man wearing a skirt they probably assume that we fall into that category rightly or wrongly.
Fortunately I have not received a single comment good or bad about what I was wearing, I’m about to leave the hotel shortly to go to the airport wearing a skirt again, because I’m not brought any trousers with me.
So I’ve been extremely lucky that it’s gone so well for me, but sadly from tomorrow I again must hide my clothes out of sight of my wife, this was a solo holiday, but that’s my life, God willing I will be able to have the experience again next year.

That is so sad and I feel for you and totally understand why pictures are a bad idea. May be you could meet up with other MIS during the year.

Can you not get a fascination for a Utility kilt and see how that flies with your other half?

Wearing sheer tights is easy - as long as your legs are t hairy. I happily wandered through Nottingham this afternoon with shorts and nude 15 denier tights.

Okay, black is harder, but if you can rock a skirt, tights are just an accessory.

The only problem I have with wearing black sheer tights in public is that I find them sexually erotic and sensual when women wear them so if I was to wear them I would feel a bit self conscious wearing an item of clothing I find sexually erotic but I guess if I was to wear them and everything was fine it would make me feel great. I only wear sheer tights/pantyhose and fishnets in the privacy of my home.

On the subject of foreign lands I’d love to go back to Paris and wear my best dress and skirt with a pair of fishnets for that French style. I think I’ll look up a holiday there soon.

I would not worry about feeling self conscious. These items of clothing are erotic, we might as well just be open and accept that. Women do, they wear all sorts of clothes and feel sexy all day. No shame in it. I see no reason why men should not feel the same.

I’ll tell you this for a fact.

After the hundredth time or so of wearing sheer tights, any sexual feeling goes. It’s a sensual feeling, and that’s fab. But not sexual.

However if a women rocks up who loves you in tights, well that changes.

Notwithstanding that outcome (which I have experienced), familiarity breeds comfort, to warp a well-known phrase. And that’s as it should be.

I think if truth be told, a number of us think our legs look good in various hosiery, I know I do......I have also been told by various women that my legs do look good, especially when wearing heels, which brings attention to your legs.

I would just embrace the good feelings and get on with it. As Ray says, do it enough and it will fade into normal life.

I find that if my legs are a bit hairy then fishnet tights have this ability to hide leg hair and any other marks and blotches on my legs. However, I’ve started shaving my legs so I can experience the sheer sensual feeling sheer tights give as opposed to fishnets which aren’t as comfortable.

I know that the more times I wear sheer tights (pantyhose) in public it will get easier as that was the case when I first wore leggings. I felt awkward but gradually got used to wearing them time and time again. All I need to be is in the mood to get a pair on and go out and grace the town with sheer black nylon legs. I’m thinking of wearing my t-shirt midi dress today with a pair of 15 denier black tights underneath.
