when that was written men wearing pants would have been rare or nonexistent. in my opinion it does not apply to men in skirts in anyway.

The Bible which all this stems from is a translation commissioned by King James IV of Scotland and first of England in 1604 and published in 1611.
Fact is, that there is considerable doubt surrounding the accuracy of much of the translation.
There is also little doubt, there was a hidden agenda behind his reasons for this very expensive commission in itself.
The gender dress divide in these cultures was probably a hell of a lot worse than now, your right, just not about trousers.
It is a book written by men for men, the inspired holy word is a matter of one's faith.

It's also worth remembering that the original text was written around 2000 years ago in a country with totally different clothing standards.
I was involved in a theatre group that staged 'Fiddler on the Roof', and we were lucky enough to have a member who could advise us on Jewish religious garments. It turns out that the 'tassels' have significance, and so we omitted them from the costumes for the show.

Steve, was it not James VI (6), not James IV (4) who became James I of England (& Wales)?

Yesterday I wore a man's coat and tie outfit. And I saw most of the women wearing trousers, and in several cases, jeans. And for some reason black sneakers with white soles are common.
That strengthen my urge to wear a dress with heels next week.
As far as Deuteronomy 22:15 is concerned, women violate it all the time. It appears that verse is selectively applied to men and not women.

The crazy thing is I have heard the same passages of the bible being used, when I was younger, to stop women wearing trousers in church, now being used to show that it is OK for women to wear trousers but not men to wear skirts. The bible is a very flexible book which with a certain spin can be made to say anything you like.
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

This was an interesting thread to read through. I wrote an article summarizing Deuteronomy 22:5's "translations", and the options Christian men have for wearing skirts, based on their take of it all:

And you don't even need an injection; just pick a skirt and wear it in public for a day -- your immunity is fully restored! :kiltdance:

Maybe we will be lucky and get new beautiful physical girl bodies!
I'm going to go out in a limb and say no. We get our bodies back, and just as Christ's body after His Resurrection still has the wounds of His Crucifixion, we will likely have all our same parts. But I don't think we will need clothes, so no being forced to wear pants...
Maybe so, but wouldn’t it be nice to get a beautiful girl body? When people do past life regressions, they have different past lives and male and also female.
My ideal body would be like a beautiful girl's but with an oktavist voice to project a G1 (three ledger lines below the bass staff) over a choir like Glenn Miller.
By the way, the dear church lady who asked why I have such big boobs, and how I could be a drag queen (perish the thought! ) with my boobs, shared with a church group that when she first joined the choir, she wondered where a bass voice was coming from.

My ideal body is the one I have been equipped with since birth. I have no complaints.

Don't need no estrogen, no piercings, no tattoos, no other modifications.

The stock equipment works just fine.

But a bit of detailing every so often is nice. It's mostly what's inside, though.

My bodily desires are simply enhancements ("detailing") of my current body. I have the appearance of a woman along with my voice that borders on basso profundo. It sure would be nice to be slender and youthful, and have a voice that rumbles really deep. I would like to be able to project G1 loudly instead of the weak volume at that pitch in the morning. And the deepest pitch I can project loudly is D2, one ledger line below the bass staff.
