When I lived in Auckland, New Zealand, I played field hockey with a local club, which was a ton of fun.
At the end of the season, we had a fun game between some of the men's teams and the women's teams.
Whoever said that the women can't run rings around the men on the field hasn't seen them in action.

We found that usually once the women got the ball, they were more skillful passing and playing the ball, and we'd never get possession of the ball once they had it, but their play was slower than the men but more strategic, wheras when the men had the ball, we'd smack it hard and before they could catch up the men had scored a goal, we played much faster.
And often enough most of the men wore the skirts for the game, which was fun too.
