I didn't try to go beyond the paywall Stu, but is this for real.
Mainstream is when M&S have men's skirts on the racks in the menswear department.
Tom Browne etc is not and never will be for the ordinary guy, just not their "type".

Mixed reviews for sure. The article also claimed that "skirts or skirt-adjacent items — be them skorts, smocks, wraps or waist-aprons — were up 229 percent on the menswear runways compared to last fall".

My favourite bits were:
