My newest dress
My newest dress
Here's what my new dress looks like
This is the link to the dress Terra & Sky Women’s Plus Rib Knit Jersey Henley Midi Dress
They only have Black Soot and Dark Aloe remaining in size 2X.
All other sizes and colors are sold out. Price reduced to $7.35
which I couldn't pass up.
It does have two side slits from the hem to the top of the knee(on me).
The sleeves, for me, could be about 4" longer but they do help
in keeping my arms warm. Only big draw back is NO POCKETS

Re: My newest dress
All things considered, just as well that dress doesn’t have pockets as they would straight up kill the lines, but then, I speak from the slightly skewed viewpoint of someone who has zero trouble using purses and handbags to put my stuff in when I wear dresses. Meanwhile, your newest acquisition looks nice, casual, yet stylish, now, this is just me, but I’d think about adding a wide belt, perhaps tan or beige as that would improve the styling.

Re: My newest dress
I wore a new dress today: a knee length jersey dress in horizontal stripes of navy and beige (over black tights), which I found in a charity shop. It's very comfortable, and I'll definitely be wearing it again. I wore a raincoat over it to the supermarket, and as it isn't hugely warm, I wore a V-necked navy jumper over it this evening, which slightly disguised the fact that it was a dress not a skirt.
I agree that sleeve length can be an issue, though: so many women's dresses have no sleeves, short sleeves, or half-length sleeves, which doesn't always feel or look right. And I would find that plunging neckline a bit of a challenge.

Re: My newest dress
Ye Gods Al, you have changed a lot!
Nice dress though, and like Jeff, I have no great need for pockets.
The neckline, just wear a tee shirt underneath, a female would.
Guys just have to learn that fashion freedom means exactly that!
Find what works for, and on you, repeat and discard when it doesn't.
Have a barrel load of laughs along the way.
Steve.

It would be nice to have a full head of hair But my long white-ish beard covers the neckline

Re: My newest dress
I also struggle with items with low necklines. But, I hadn’t worked out that with a longish beard the problem is reduced, even though a beard is hanging on the end my chin as I type….
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

Re: My newest dress
now if only it didn't have that scoop-neck....
Re: My newest dress
A thin mockneck or t-shirt could solve that problem.

A "mockneck" (fake turtle neck) is what I used to call a 'Dickie', and are still sold to the public.timemeddler wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:59 amtrue, but in my one track mind wearing a shirt with it would kinda defeat the purpose of such an outfit.

I have no problem with the scoop neckline, as it isn't as pronounced on me as it is on the original model.

This one works for me as a night shirt. I'm six feet tall and weigh about 140. This costs less than pajamas anyway. As to whether I can wear it out that depends on the weather, eventually warming up. The wife will complain, but she's done that about lot of my outfits, including some that are as male as you can get.

Re: My newest dress
Terra & Sky along with Time and Tru are the brands that work for me as I'm 6' 2" tall and 225 lbs(was 285). No-Bo is always too small, and
(IMHO) geared towards the 'teenie-bopper' image. Their(No-Bo) sizing doesn't match up with many other brands. A 2XL in No-Bo is smaller
than a Large in Terra & Sky or Time and Tru. (I've been down that road before )
I have a few other dresses that are used as night-wear only as it is difficult to find long enough items to be comfortable in public.
Good luck with the No-Bo dress
