Tarzan the Ape Man

Post by mr seamstress »

Who remembers Tarzan the Ape Man? This hero wore nothing more than a mini skirt. This series was on weekly when I was growing up.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0023551/

Johnny Weissmuller was the first actor as Tarzan. No other actor who play Tarzan after him could do the call to the jungle as Johnny could do. Studios did voice remix when other actors play Tarzan.
In the series he had a son that wore a mini skirt also.

I remember when this was a Saturday afternoon TV show, in the mid 1950's.
I was around 4 or 5 years old when it was on air. In the movie, Tarzan's "skirt" was
more a loin cloth than a skirt. It didn't have a 'waist band' but a string or rope(vine?)
holding it to his waist. No one ever considered his wearing 'the loin cloth' as obscene,
or out of the ordinary.

Today a person can buy that costume by searching for Tarzan costume. This costume is made for infants boy and up. This costume is made in leopard print. Many males sees leopard print as female garment, even though these garments include just regular shirts and pants.
I personally like leopard and have the shirt, pants dresses, and skirts I wear.

When Tarzan travels to New York he had to wear a suit. In the movie he complain how they fit and he didn't like that fit and wanted his old clothes back.
We as men can agree we want clothes that is comfortable.

Johnny Weissmuller was the first actor as Tarzan.
....
The first actor was Elmo Lincoln. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmo_Lincoln
The first Tarzan movie was "Tarzan of the Apes (1918)" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarzan_of ... 1918_film).

Johnny Weissmuller came only 1932 in "Tarzan the Ape Man" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarzan_th ... 1932_film)

My same observation - - - and there was NO censorship of any kind as to the brevity of the outfit !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !
