First steps in tights

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

I went to yoga class today wearing purple tights with the ohm symbol in orange on the side and a tie dye thong bodysuit underneath with a blue under armor tank top. Needles to say, it was super hot so I ditched the blue tank top during practice. The lady next to me was wearing a forest green one piece body suit with a halter back, and cheek splitting butt lift bottom, she looked super sexy. After class I gave her positive feedback on her outfit, And she repaid the compliment on how she like my tie dye shirt and asked where did it get it. I told her it was not a shirt but a one piece thong from Starwear.us Swimwear (Guyleto, tie dye, Male Cut, thong bottom, Keyhole back, tank style, one piece swimsuit that I bought on etsy. I mentioned that I bought it for the summer to wear to the beach but didn't get a chance. I said that I thought about wearing it alone with out the tights during class. She said that with my type of body, I could probably get away with it and no one would ***** about it. But I wasn't sure if it was OK with the dress code. So maybe next time I'll inquire with the owner if I can wear just a thong bodysuit. well see what happens next class!

thongs underwear is the best solution for wearing leggings or tights

Today, I'm not the only dude wearing tights out and about running errands. After hot yoga class I had to do some Christmas shopping. So instead of going home to change, I just went out in my black running tights and hoodie. Much to surprise and pleasure I saw another male in the discount department store wearing tights and sweatshirt. I'm not alone and I validates my feelings that no one else evens cares that a man can wear tights anywhere besides the gym, yoga studio or out running. I see many women in their yoga tights all the time at the store and in other public places. 8~D

Since it has been getting cooler with the falls temps I've been wearing skirts less and moving back to leggings for most of my everyday outfits. I went to the local eatery today and the owner noticed that I was not in a skirt as usual due to the cool weather. Looking back on wearing tights for me has been a lifestyle choice, even before all the hubbub about whether men should wear them at all by the so called fashion police. I have always been very active in sports and fitness. It started for me anyway back in the 80's when everyone was wearing spandex to the gym. Just for the record I'm 65 now. I was into aerobics exercise, biking, running and other sports that no one batted an eye when a guy wore tights. I did aerobic competitions singles and team. The uniform was tights, leg warmers and a leotard for men and women. Sometimes I wore a one piece bodysuit with a dance belt underneath and thong on the outside. I made lots of women friends and got plenty of positive comments. I also did a lot of training with friends that did triathlons, so riding bikes and running in leggings was no big deal. Recently, my wife found a picture of me on our honeymoon, where I was cross country skiing in cold weather leggings. Today, I wear leggings all of the time. I hardly wear pants or jeans, only when I have too.

This is remedied by wearing Women’s underwear, which is substantively thinner overall, especially in the Leg seams. Full briefs are the most comfortable under Tights in my experience.
I'm glad this works for you. I've tried it. I'll stick with unbifurcated underwear and hosiery that doesn't cover the groin. Much more comfortable.

An alternative to tights which is/are worth considering are what I've seen referred to as "Suspender tights" - https://www.uktights.com/tights/suspender-tights
These are effectively a cross between stockings and tights in that they're all one piece with a waistband but there's a gap between the waistband and the legs. Good for ventilation and access to certain things but less fiddly than stockings+suspenders/garters.

I have a pair of these and have found them comfortable, though a fiddle to put on as they tend to get twisted.

Tights I have found quite workable, so long as they are the right size, which can be tricky to work out as website size guides tend to work on female proportions. Too large and they sag and go wrinkly around your ankles; too small and the regular movement as you walk tends to pull them (and possibly other undergarments) gradually southwards...! The latter problem can also occur with stockings, if you don't have broad hips to keep a suspender belt firmly up.
