Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. In regards to men using skirts I found this interesting profile in TikTok which seems to be young peoples choice of social media nowadays. It’s a young Finnish guy showcasing skirts and on the audio track he talks about how we should review and break the restrictive dressing norms for men. Sadly it’s all in Finnish but he’s very analytical and conveys the message really well. Taking into account the topic and the fact that Finland has only a population of 5.5M the videos have received a lot of likes and comments and especially women seem exited about the styles he shows It’s a bold move from the guy and this is exactly what we need - someone giving a face for the cause and making people see differently.
This makes me really hopeful because young people have more flexible minds and when they start talking about stuff like this the change might come extremely fast. Also if the guys see that girls can actually like men in skirts it’s a huge game changer too.
