Lighthearted quips and amusing incidents re MIS

Post by Faldaguy »

Today we attended the memorial for a friend who had requested his memorial be a true celebration of his life: That people should come dressed colorfully, not drab; they should bring musical instrument, songs, memories, food and games to be enjoyed. Specifically a soccer game, the volleyball court and table tennis were actively engaged, even a couple wandering minstrels. The man was renowned for his work cataloging primitive cloud forest remainders and had a deep love of nature, so my choice of skirt reflected the colors of the sky, flora and birds he loved and my wife also wore a colorful pleaded skirt. At one point in a small group his mother complimented her skirt, to which she, in mock sotto voce said: "I borrowed it from my husband --- how many women can say that?" with a smile. It brought several more smiles from the group. :)

Faldaguy,
That is lovely and is how life should be for everyone, not just MIS either.
Quite envious right now!
