Not sure how long these have been available - but interesting. Expensive though, and we all know cheap alternatives available via "the usual channels", but this is notable in that yet another retailer is selling them.
The name kind of cracks me up "Black kilt-like skirt" and "Check kilt-like skirt". At least they are being honest, like, "Buy our kilt. Erm, ok we lied, it's a skirt". Also LOL'd a bit that they put them under the "Pants" category.

Re: Simons's (Canadian) men's skirts
Coder,
They are spot on with the description "kilt like skirt".
The outward look is kiltish but it isn't a wrapover, "concealed zip closure"= skirt.
Ye Gods, there are enough rabid Scots Canadians who'd have torched the place had they tried to leave it at just kilt.
It would be interesting to know if they make any sales from them though.
Steve.

You can get skirts a bit like that for a tenner off Bolton market! In fact I bought a red tartan one for my dear old mum!
Nice try though Canada.

The combination of expensive + limited availability + price drop makes me curious. How long have these been on their site? Is this a failed experiment? Did they unexpectedly sell out? Do they have another design in the pipeline?
Keep in mind - whenever seeing these high prices - these skirts are priced at that retailer's normal pricing structure - we are not the target demographic. They are selling to affluent people who have no qualms about dropping hundreds of dollars on clothes. I don't see common retailers like Kohls, Meijers, Target (well, maybe Target), JC Penny carrying affordable skirts for men anytime soon.

Probably just trying ti unload the goods but I like their approach. Sell it under pants where men will look, name it something a man wouldn’t instantly say no to and start with drab boring colors. Seems the material may be nice though.Coder wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 5:32 am https://www.simons.ca/en/search--search ... tments=Men
