Pre Loved Shoes

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Daryl wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 10:18 am I only got into women's shoes and heels after a bit of a slide into women's other garments thanks to a local plus-size women's store. Finding the right supplier, whose purchasers really take serving plus-size women's feet seriously, makes all the difference, in my view.
Daryl, could you mention the name of this store. I have not found anyone who carries women's shoes wide enough for my feet.

Thanks
It is/was Penningtons and its sister chain Additione Elle, both of which are part of Reitman's in Canada and have undergone major reorganisation to the extent that Addition Elle is now only a collection under the retail banner of Penningtons. I have noticed that footwear has suffered a great deal under this new configuration. The brand name footwear like Clarks and Naturalizer and Skechers were never very good at having truly wide widths and often don't even come in sizes over 10 even at Penningtons. The shoes named only something like "Addition Elle", or other ways of signifying that they aren't an independent brand name, are now very few in number, which means I'll have to be sure to watch the website more closely and visit stores for items that might not be on the website, when the covids are gone from public policy.

I suspect deeply that the covids caused a downsizing so severe that even the buyers responsible for the excellent sourcing were released. (I hope that they were simply kept from travelling.) Given that it is a Canadian chain, I think it doubtful that it will be much use to anyone outside of Canada, but the website is www.penningtons.com if you are truly curious. I don't currently even see any heels worth my interest. Anything less than 2" and I might as well buy men's footwear.

Thanks for the website addy. They seem to have dropped the extra wide shoes from most of the styles that I would wear. Well it was worth a try but as with all of woman's shoes my feet are too big, too wide and no one makes shoes to fit any more.

OK - FYI - so I got them and they have arrived and are just like the pic they provided.
Sooo nice.
They slip on easily and have excellent arch support - I've worn enough high heels to know these are perfect for me.
I am lucky and grateful - something worked out just right so far this year!

Cheers

One thing the internet is good for is buying and selling stuff. Here in NZ we have few decent shops and not many good brands available.

So I found a pre-loved pair of Loubutin 'Breche' pumps in nude.
about 1/3rd the price of new but hardly showing any signs of wear.
I like to wear a nude coloured shoe a lot - they go with almost everything.

now I have to make a decision in the next 2-3 days, a nude pair like this or a patent red pump I have my eyes on ... or perhaps both .... decisions decisions....

Those could be anyone's feet. I think a tattoo is in order so in future we can know you aren't cheating.

thanks JeffB

they're the perfect height for me for wearing to work or standing a lot too - not too high but still I feel a bit up there if that makes sense.

Cause they're not too pointy toed I think they transverse the dressy and casual spaces.

A really awesome find - doubt I will be so lucky again this year... perhaps she will sell more shoes?

You are fortunate indeed, my friend. Yeah, heels like those could easily transition from the boardroom to the ballroom. Well done, nz!
