Hi Uncle Al,

I have been reading this thread and these events are sadenning, for us all, and I hope that the good time that you have left will be times of happiness and reflection to many years of life's treasures which we collect along the way.

Without going into any details, I've seen what strokes do, and how they affect some folks, and how the negative effects can cascade. I've seen some of my own family members suffer in this way, and they've all been aware of what's going on in the early stages which has been the very thing that makes this harder on us all.

Our thoughts etc are with you, and we're all here in this online community to support each other as best we can, from across the globe which we call home.

Here we go again :!:
Wife is back in the hospital.
Major bladder infection.
Ruled out a 3rd stroke.
She turns 69 on the 24th of December.
What a way to celebrate a birthday and to end the year

I am sorry to hear about that setback, partcularly with birthday and Christmas so close. Unfair at 69.
The challenge is to try and make the best out of the present situation.
Just don't take seafood into the hospital like I did for my partner once. Heather enjoyed it but it freaked the nurses out as it can be a source of nasty infections.

Adding insult to injury, the hospital staff booted Al from the premises, giving him a COVID test in the process telling him, "you'll get the results by mail" (and the implicit one of, "don't come back until the test results do."). Given the time of year, and the state of the USPS, he's not going to know anything until next ruddy week...

Hi Carl :|

Guess I wasn't specific enough in my text message, sorry

My wife was given the Covid-19 test, not me. Before the nurses administered the test, they
told me I had to leave. I would not be allowed to see her until after the test results came back.

They only result that can happen is a negative result. She hasn't been out of bed, let alone
the house, since 4 August. The only contact she's had with "The Outside World" was with the
Home Health Care People who came to take care of her.

I'm better today but, yesterday was difficult - to say the least.

Ah, the perils of TXT...

At least that's cleared up. Sorry for spreading fake news, although based on what I had on hand ...

Cases of loving people being kept apart in care homes and hospitals are common over here. At least the vaccines may end this abomination. I feel for you Al. May you and your wife have the best Christmas you are allowed to have. I haven't seen my mother since June because she is on mild chemotherapy and I'm in a role with lots of contact with the general public. My mother is likely to be an early recipient of the vaccine. Roll on 2021. My love and prayers to you and your wife.

:cussing: :wall: :cussing:
Lack of communication from the hospital :cussing:

Now, I find that she can't be transported by car as she's to
fragile for travel by personal car. Must arrange transport
by professionals, to get her home.

Just got off the phone with the charge nurse. She will
have the Doctor call me for final verification on discharge.
At this late time of day, along with rain showers, the nurse
said that she may not come home tonight. No use in making
her susceptible to any new illness which may be caused by
the rain and low temperatures(for Texas).

EDIT Had a call back from my wife's nurse. Dr will not release
her into this weather and temps. Will take place tomorrow,
I'm presuming midday-ish. Will know more tomorrow. ARGH

Al, Don't let the butt holes get you down. Just think she will be home soon and the two of you will be together again.

Prayers are offered daily for both you and Debbie..
