Hey Moon - you weren't trying to be a amateur Rembrandt were you ?

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

I believe the numbness has fully worn off now.... I caved and dosed some ibuprofen.

It's not too bad, but still.... not a pleasant feeling....

I definitely won't be sleeping on my right side for a few nights...

I'll be fine....

So what do you do when someone cuts off a piece of your ear....

Buy new shoes of course!

Nice flats from Walmart today...

Glad to hear that it went well. Maybe you should have bought a wide brim hat instead of shoes :)

I had a similar surgery - one the tops of both my ears -
The six month follow ups for 3 years - the one year
follow ups for another 2 years.

Now they tell me to come back if I notice anything.

These things can start popping up on a regular basis
in some people, others like me, seem to have a one
and done situation.

Best of luck, Moon. Just keep an eye on these things
and odds are you will be alright.

Many years ago my late ex- and I adopted a stray cat that had a recent scar behind one of her ears. We looked around diligently for her humans but found no-one. So we had out vet look at the ear, and basal-cell carcinoma was what was in play. We had the rest of that removed by our top-flight vet and she lived out the rest of her days in a very loving home.

So, this is quite survivable.

I can't help but think about the lyric in the "Boy named Sue" by Johnny Cash...

Well, I hit him hard right between the eyes
And he went down, but to my surprise
He come up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear
Then I busted a chair right across his teeth
And we crashed through the walls and into the street
Kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer

Thanks for all the well wishes fellas!

He's got a great wife that takes good care of him so he's definitely in good hands.Plus I have nursing experience so he is well on his way to a great healthy and speedy recovery.I made him take his ibuprofen so all is well.

Hi Jenn and Moon,
I am coming in on the tail end,
My best wishes and hopes for the most positive outcome to you both.
Moon, I am sure that you would be able to concoct some suitable fable about any resulting scar.
Just don't "pick" it as my Mother would have said to me.
