Can man look good in dress?

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Can a man look good in a dress?

Not if he isn't good looking in the first place!

I have ruined 3 camera lenses trying to take
my picture and prove my point.

Hey PatJ,

At least it was just the camera lens and not the
entire camera. Your camera body must be made
out of stout stuff :)

I've worn a few dresses that I have felt like I looked OK in... This one got me quite a few compliments:

I often feel awkward in a dress, and likewise, I feel excellent in one. It is a cross of "Is this too far?!?" mixed with, "Oh, YEAH! I go this far!!".

Why in the world would you ever feel awkward? You looked great in that dress!

Absolutely you look great in that dress! It’s a beautiful dress, it’s flattering and you strike great poses. Get out of your own way!

My thoughts are that I am jealous of your wardrobe.

The only "masculinity" distinction I make for myself anymore is not wearing things that are specifically and obviously designed to accommodate or accentuate parts that I don't possess because I am not female. Flowers, dots, bare shoulders, whatever, are all fine.

As for what others make of my masculinity or lack thereof, well, they are welcome to test their ideas with me.

You look fine in that rig. The shoes go well with it too. This was a bit of an education for me: discovering how much the legs and feet supported the look above them. Fortunately I adjusted to heels quite well, which expands my choices considerably.

I totally relate to "is this too far" versus "oh yeah, I go this far!" Life is more fun in the latter zone.

I think you have a well balanced look going on there. personally I think the extra touches - as in a necklace and a nude heeled shoe are a finishing touch thats add a polish to the ensemble. Well done!!
Enjoy your clothes and rock them out there...
red is also a nice colour to wear - and a dress like that is an empowering dress - I think wearing a heeled shoe is probably the best option with a red outfit.

cheers

It appears that Madonna's son, David Banda has taken to wearing a dress and he really rocks it.
