Skirts worn with a corset
Has anybody worn a skirt with a corset over your skirt? I mean a proper corset - steel boned/steel busked corset?
I have a black leather corset which I am surprised to find I enjoy wearing thus far - and am looking forward to trying to close it properly once it is seasoned on me. I am pondering the idea of wearing
it openly over a skirt/top or a dress.
and it is an underbust corset - so just from low hip to underbust.
Has this been tried before - any comments.
cheers

Re: Skirts worn with a corset
I'm sure someone has, but I'm not one of them.
Considering you have something to stuff into the top of your corset, you could probably pull it off.
Even if I did as well, I think I would save it for a weekend night of clubbing.

Hi PDX
its not about my breasts - its an underbust corset so its not doing anything for me in that regard - I am enjoying the feel and uniqueness of the garment. It really feels good on - it was a bit tender on my hip bones and ribs - pressure from internal corset bones vs my bones - but its softening up nicely.
I like the look of it and it is very figure defining - so for me - I like that
cheers

Re: Skirts worn with a corset
No interest whatsoever. I associate corsets with those who want an unnatural body shape and body shaming.

I think you're referring to some thing like the
Oktoberfest Fraulein Women's German Costume. No bra is worn with this costume/dress.
I've seen many 'Frauleins' at Ren Faires as this type of
garment was also worn by women in Scotland.

Uncle Al,
yes - very similar but without the shoulders... and could be part of the skirt or not. Mine is a free garment in that it can go over anything - a top/jeans or a top/skirt or a dress even.

Perhaps when using a jack-hammer.
Actually I would probably just settle for a kidney belt on a building site.
I associate that look with the steampunk style, which I quite like ............. Victorian engineering principles applied to clothing.

Re: Skirts worn with a corset
I love corsets and wear them quite often.
Re: Skirts worn with a corset
Do you buy women’s corsets or corsets specifically designed for men? I’ve never tried it, but I like the idea of wearing a corset with a skirt and heels.

Check out Dark Garden Corsetry in San Francisco.
They have plenty of male customers.
All their corsets are bespoke and of high quality.
Also look in Google Images for "Dirndl".
That's the dress typically worn by waitresses in
German beer halls. They have a cinched-up waist
with front lacing, and a full skirt.

Re: Skirts worn with a corset
My main reason for wearing a skirt is comfort and freedom of movement. To my mind, a corset would be contrary to those reasons. Somebody has to come up with a very good reason to make me even slightly interested.

Re: Skirts worn with a corset
I have been toying with the idea of a skirt integrated into a brace/belt/corset.
Not a true corset, but more of a wide "lifter" type belt. The idea, (for me) would be to correct posture and pull in the middle age spread. I visualize it being made out of some substantial material, or at least the belt portion being backed with a heavier fabric.

Re: Skirts worn with a corset
I don't always wear a corset - its something I tried recently and enjoyed the fit thereof
I wear corsets designed for a womens figures. I have a reasonable hip width so I fit them ok.
I wear high heels everyday and they are great with any figure defining style of clothing... and a corset is a figure defining garment
