Uncle Al,

You're a Star. I'm only too aware of the very severe personal and family problems you are going through and you have my very best wishes and prayers on that front, but you remembered my Birthday!! Very many thanks.

I joke that at my age I'm not counting anymore, but that's a lie, of course. The counting will only stop when the Grandfather Clock Stops....short...never to go again.

MOH arranged two sequential social events at home. Lunch with just two close friends and our circular garden-room table is well suited to social distancing. Then later on two different bridge-playing friends came for a few rubbers of House Bridge. We all had not played for months and were pleasantly reminded of what a splendid experience it is to play with competent players & good company.

Happy Birthday.

Getting older is a good thing but being old not so much.

On a positive note: every year the cake gets bigger to place a growing number of candles. The down side is, it takes more effort for the aging lungs to blow them.

It looks like you celebrated in good company.

Happy birthday, Tom. May you have many more. It would be desperately sad to lose someone with your unique sense of humour.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.
