Re: My work station for today
Nice! Today, mine mostly consisted of looking at the road through the windscreen, a steering-wheel, mirrors, the instruments, and assorted idiots doing stupid things around me whilst distracted by various unimportant (to driving) gadgets in their cars.
Honestly, I wonder how much of a hash I could make out of such an impressive console... (I'm sure it'd be very embarrassing.)

What reason, did you give a concert?
Re: My work station for today
Nice bit of kit, Uncle Al. Problem for me would be deciding which of all those tabs to press, and as for the black & white things, there's an awful lot of those, too.
Right now, at MY work station there is our day-long Classical channel playing in the background and right now it's Friedrich Handel's variations on the basic tune 'Baa baa black sheep' which are fiery to say the least......on keyboard.
Speaking of variations....The tune 'Tea for Two', which I almost got to play for Carl last April was originally composed by Shostakovich and I've gotten hold of some of his interpretations of it. Lightening stuff!

Re: My work station for today
@Uncle Al, "Tea for Two" was composed by Vincent Youmans in
1925 as part of his musical, "No, No, Nanette."
Shostakovich revised and orchestrated it in about 1927 as
"Tahiti Trot." You can find many versions on YouTube.
If you want to hear something really amazing, go to
YouTube and look for Art Tatum playing "Tea for Two,"
apparently as an improvisation, but somebody managed
to transcribe this unbelievable performance as sheet music,
which you can read through as you listen.

Re: My work station for today
I have Art Tatum's sheet music in A-flat, but his version alas omits the lovely intro, to which the words are: I'm disenchanted, with homes that are rented, and so I've invented- my own....&c.'
I'm a sucker for Dimitri, though and have also committed his 'Waltz no. 2 from his Jazz suite' to memory, which I can never hear too often.

You don't have to go to a horror movie to see zombies. All you have to do is drive in morning rush hour and you will see plenty of them.crfriend wrote:Nice!
