You are lucky. I have never seen another man in a skirt (or even a kilt) in real life, perhaps because I don't frequent highly populated areas very often.

Probably my first sighting. With the Utilikilt, Sport Kilt, Skirtcraft sales totals that I read, I would think that I would have seen more. I guess with roughly 300 million people in EUrope, 300 million in the U.S., add Australia, New Zealand, South Africa that thousands of kilt and man skirt sales are still just drops in the bucket. I keep hoping that the rebellion against the prohibition against shorts by school boys (in Europe) wearing skirts will continue and encourage interest. I anticipate that normalization won't happen in my lifetime but then again, I never thought I'd see the fall of the Berlin Wall either.

When "The Wall" came down, my wife & I were watching it on TV.
Our Eldest son walked in the door, coming home from school, & asked why
we were crying? It's just a wall, so what?

I replied, "You may think it's 'Just A Wall' but your mom & I know WHY IT WENT UP".
We were crying tears of joy that the symbol of NAZI-ism was being tore down.
Families were being re-united. If one looks at pictures taken looking at the 'West' (city)
side of the wall and compares them to the 'East' (city) side of the wall, you'll be able to
better understand how the Socialistic practices of Hitler, undermined the people which
drove them into abject poverty.

As of this writing, I'm 68 years 'young' & maybe, JUST MAYBE, will see Men in Skirts as a normal 'thing'.

I recall the fall of the wall too, and scenes of people trying to escape over it. But I’m a ‘57 model and think I wasn’t born when it was built. Still, I didn’t think it had anything to do with Hitler or Nazis. I thought it was East German and Russian totalitarianism that folks were fleeing. What did I miss in history class?

Nothing to do with Nazis whatsoever. [Can't say more lest I get "political".]

Actually it was going to be on the Nazis. And hit *way* too close to home.

Winston Churchill already predicted the Iron Curtain between East and West in 1946. This was the result.

OK, ok maybe NAZI-ism was the wrong choice of words to describe
the Communistic attitudes of the East German Politic. (Promoted by
Hitler, at the time.) Anyway, The Wall was a symbol of the divide
between Socialism and Capitalism. The result, West Berlin (Capitalism)
thrived. East Berlin (Socialism) dwindled down to, practically, nothing.
The poor remained poor or became more poor under Socialism.

OK, enough said. Let's move on and get back on topic, shall we :?:

Going back to the question in the title of this thread , .....I feel that the greater acceptance of the.... Man in a Skirt ..out on the street is perhaps
more important than the theoretical increase of the numbers of Men in Skirts........in some areas ,like Seattle ...local marketing of a " Man - Skirt "
regional fashion has produced a local regional high level of Men in Skirt sightings.....

I find that with the local temperature rise to normally above ....10 C ....the wearing of two ...below the knee summer skirts with bare legs and knee high boots
is delightfully comfortable again........I feel that the Regional Style of Men in Skirts is controlled by the air temperature.

Our own individual style of attire in many cases prevents Men in Skirts sightings from becoming a ....Regional Fashion....

The acceptance that you mention is good enough for me.

I suspect that I was born too early to see MIS popularized.

One of the early Men In Skirts Fashions was on the Catwalks in the Swinging Sixties .....the Pop Artists Culture popularised Men in Skirts probably
in the 70 s and 80 s

“The NWO worships Satan” - Vladimir Putin

(anyway) .... I’ve been skirted 365 for six years. Never publicly except for road trips door to door. I do lots of yard work skirted outdoors on my property while skirted, only once going to the convenience store skirted and I was a nervous wreck. I’ve recently bought three nightgowns that are just wonderful. For 6 years I’ve worn a skirt. The last two months I’ve been wearing nightgowns and they’re sooo comfortable. I have two skirts I wear for gardening, one winter a-line & a lighter a-line that’s showing its age. It’s my favorite and I’m wearing it now. I’ve recently purchased a LumaRx IPL Pro, and as advertised, after three full body treatments, I’m (94%) hair free. I Love it. The comfort of smooth skirt with skirts & nightgowns are devine. I used to be terrified of shaved legs & shorts in the summer, but now I don’t care. I can get away with lasered legs. I’m not comfortable wearing a skirt in public. I did two years ago at a nudist resort, and I’d do that again.

Grok.....Popularisation by publicity interest in U K....1970's ......However popularisation is regional......London Fashion Week this year is showing
more interest in Men in Skirts.....there is more freedom for the English Male to cross the isle and buy his skirts off the female rail.

There is plenty of enthusiasm at the Skirt Café .............weeladdie

I really think that acceptance is the important point.
If we drastically increased in numbers and weren't accepted, then we could become ostracised because our numbers became threatening. That has happened to a number of growing minorities.
I would be happier to be the only man in a skirt and accepted, not because of the skirt but because everyone should be accepted for their uniqueness, which makes for a better society.
It would be a better outcome than being normalised - there is too much normalism as it is - that is the problem.
