See my Baby Jive by Roy Wood and Wizard.
It transports me right back to the early 1970s.
Great times!
Steve.

Re: Music that made memories
Music takes you back in time. And then it seems sometimes it used to be better. Even less happy times seem more beautiful than they are. Maybe that's why it is also good for your memory. I think so now.
Music is also very important to me. I can put my feelings into that. Fortunately, I can now talk about my feelings more easily. I also think that I now have the right friends around me.
Cherish those memories. They are beautiful.

Stevie, two of my very minor claims to fame are that I once served Roy Wood in a bar and that I went to the same school as Noddy Holder (albeit some years later than him).STEVIE wrote:See my Baby Jive by Roy Wood and Wizard.
Steve.
For some reason, right now I can only think of holidays / trips being associated with music. Singles – 45's and Under by Squeeze was on heavy rotation when I was on a geography field trip with school to Morecambe back in about '87 and we played to death an album by a French artist named Zaz on a driving holiday we did around Normandy, Brittany and down to Giverny and Versailles a few years ago.
One very recent event that will stay in my memory was seeing Richard Thompson (originally of Fairport Convention, but he's been a solo artist for many years) play in Boston the other night. I think this is about the 6th time I've seen him and it was really a standout performance. So, whenever I hear his music I expect that it will remind me of this night.

Re: Music that made memories
I think that Glen Miller and "The Chattanooga Choo Choo" is the one I remember most. I was more into big bands of the 40's when I was growing up. There were only a few Rock and/or Roll groups that I listened to as well as a few folk groups.Uncle Al wrote:Music that made memories in your life.

I totally enjoy Big Band too
The song I originally posted about was played & sung
at our wedding. This is what we walked down the
aisle to as the recessional, on our way out of the church
