Well now they ain't gonna let you wear that skirt in there Dan, you know that! They're gonna make you wear one of those little gowns where your butt sticks out the end! :D

Sure to be just as comfortable though!

Seriously, best of luck to you on your procedure. I look forward to your return!

I hope all goes well for you and you should not have any trouble wearing a skirt. I wear a skirt to the VA hospital and clinic all of the time and have no reactions other than good ones.

Get well soon!!.

IMMMMMMMM Back

Had a rough couple of weeks. But I am home and ok Thanks to all for your good thoughts.

Had a triple bypass.

With a 14 inch slice up my leg I think I am going to be wearing tights for a while.

I lot of people knock the VA but I have to say the care was fantastic.

When I was in ICU I had a private room and the first 4 days a private nurse.

I had an afib incident last Wednesday and before I could blink an eye I had 6 people all over me.

The last time I underwent surgery, all the Male patients in the hospital were mandated to wear support stockings to guard against possible DVT during their stay.

Ah, oldsalt1, I'd been wondering why you'd gone all quiet. Good to hear it all went well.
Keep on skirting,

It is good to hear you are back after repairs to your plumbing. I hope you will be up and running as before after everything has settled down. Is that scar peeping out from under your minis?

Well done, those can look remarkably like kilt hose. If you wear plaid, consider flashes from time to time.

Here's, again, hopes for a speedy recovery and return to full function!

OS1,

I take my hat off to you and wish you a speedy recovery. It cannot have been much fun allowing them to fillet you like that. Being in the business I am I can recall looking on at such operations as a student when I was collecting clinical OP. 'miles'., but it's marvelous now how good the results are.

One of my closest rower friends, older than me underwent such an OP some thirty years ago, and while they wouldn't allow him row competitively again, he remains in very good health to this day.

Thank you all for your well wishes. It was a rough couple of weeks but I am home and on the mend.

I checked into the hospital the day before the operation and I spent a good part of the afternoon moving from lab to lab wearing my denim skirt. There was never a problem or comment. I was able to go out and eat dinner with my son that night.

We went to a Mexican restaurant .

Once I checked back in that night it was almost 2 weeks of hospital garb . You want to talk about a loss of dignity.

When I finally got home it was such a pleasure to get up and put a skirt back on.
