In fact, it seems I can't find a skirt that doesn't magnetize itself to a pair of leg coverings. The thigh high socks seem to work better... and make it easier to function when nature calls.

Perhaps I can give them a go with the hoop petti. That rig keeps the skirt off the legs under all but the widest of strides. 8)
A well-known problem with support hose as well. The solution: a half-slip - puts a very slick layer between the two so the skirt hangs and moves better. :D Alternatively, a lined skirt or dress. The purpose of a slip is not just for see through clothing - the extra layer sort of blocks the transparency of the outer garment, it’s to make the skirt or dress hang better, move better, especially with stockings. also a slip helps prevent static cling. they still sell them in stores so that’s a clue that some people do wear them.

Another 'trick' is to get a dryer activated softener sheet, rub it on
the hose/tights from the waist down to the knees. This helps cut
down the 'static cling' between the fabrics. This works when a slip
is not available. I've found that body heat tends to increase the
'clinging' effect. The dryer sheet trick, when applied to your warm
hose/tights, will help eliminate the cling. Not always, but most of
the time.

Hints from Heloise? Always the scientist, Al...but a useful trick, nonetheless.

I don't have to go looking for good pictures of leggings.
All I do is sit with my cup of coffee, and a thousand pair
of leggings and/or tights go walking past every hour.
Almost all female, of course, but who's complaining?
