Is this the right site for me or not
Is this the right site for me or not
Being as I like wearing very feminine or should I say very girly skirts and not the macho type and now the OH also likes me in cammi tops or a blouse some times teamed up with tights (re last night's photo) or stockings and suspender belt I am beginning to wonder if this is the correct site.
After all this site is or men wearing skirts not blouses and hosiery.
Should I be on here or look for a crossdressers site ??
Appreciate your comments

If its advice and support you are looking for, for wearing skirts of any shape or type out in public then this is the site you are looking for, but if you are into full cross dressing then maybe not. Of the pictures I seen of you, they are very nice and suit you very well.

In my short time here, I have observed a big range of attitudes and outfits. This is a unique group of people and I think there's a lot of good advice here. Personally I tend towards the more masculine side of the spectrum but I enjoy hearing from folks who are on the other end of it. And then there are the posts that have nothing at all to do with how we dress . . .
Re: Is this the right site for me or not
If your interest is to be a man wearing skirts for comfort or style, this is the place.
But If your interest is in masquerading as or becoming a woman, you'll probably be better off at a crossedressers site, because they'll have advice on things like wigs, makeup, shaving, and mannerisms.
Forced feminization (woman dominates man by forcing him into "sissy" clothes) is another category entirely.

There's also the seeming factors of exhibitionism and fetish that seem to be in play here as well.
Fetish is fine so long as it's not overplayed, but as we're all ambassadors when it comes to getting skirts on guys accepted by the mainstream exhibitionism is really neither helpful nor welcome. If we're flashing our privates in public we're doing nobody any favours.
"Just sayin'."

See... this is what I was talking about in the other thread....
Yes Karl, if you're calling yourself a man (and not a "gurl" or something to that effect), then I believe this is the place for you, you are what we would call a "freestyler".
See this post for my thoughts on the matter...
These are some of my most recent looks... and I ain't been r-u-n-n-o-f-t yet!
And I'll continue to post here until Uncle Al, Carl (crfriend), milfmog, or bob tells me to leave, or I start calling myself a "gurl"...

Come in and have a seat... we have much to discuss!moonshadow wrote:... SNIP...
I have taken interest in this discussion as I consider myself among the more (maybe the most) femininely dressed active member here as of now, and I'd like to think there is still a place for myself here at the cafe, because I don't think I'd fit in well in a more "woman impersonating" crossdressing site. (I find them annoying) Plus I'd like to hold the door open for future members, or current members who are still learning their path who want to go beyond skirts and explore that which is forbidden to men in general, and yet still remain a man.

Re: Is this the right site for me or not
Karl, I had a very, very brief period where I dressed as a woman with wig etc not because I wanted to but because I and MOH thought that that's what you had to do in order for me to wear a skirt. Truth is that I couldn't put up with it all and I discovered this site and learned that you could just wear a skirt, period. So I dropped the feminisation like a ten ton anchor. I now have expanded my wardrobe to include tops and that's probably where I will stop. Of all me skirts, some are considered feminine and I have no regrets buying them. I don't want to get rid of them as I like them and would wear them outside. So what you need to ask yourself, and I would posit that you are probably too near the start of the journey to really make the decision, is how far do I want to go and remain comfortable and true to myself. You will get the answer to that question through experience and participation. I hope that you do remain a member of this site as we are stronger together and learning from each other than on our own. I know that I wouldn't be as comfortable as I am without the support of many of the members of this site. Maybe you could explore the cross-dressers sites. I have but I found them a little too serious and earnest and possibly even obsessive so they weren't for me. Good luck on your journey through life and may you enjoy your skirts.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Re: Is this the right site for me or not
Hi Karl,
I have just discovered that I have another commonality with Sinned thanks to your question.
I spent about 10 years trying to "pass" and failed quite miserably. If I had enjoyed and been successful at it, who knows?
The point, I eventually woke up to a simple fact, I could mix my garb as much or as little as I like. A substantial part of that particular Epiphany was due to the Cafe and it's Patrons.
From the photos you posted, there is no "femme" in the look you have created. Most importantly you look comfortable!
Stay with us, explore and discuss as you will.
Note to Mods, how about serving some select beers?
Steve.

Re: Is this the right site for me or not
Thanks Steve. But my 2nd outing was femme. The pic wasn't good so I have got to redo them.
The difference is I love wearing femme girly skirts as well as the normal denim.
I am going to take pics of all my skirts in the next few days and open a new post called " my wardrobe "
And hope to get feedback from member on this site

That's absolutely fine. You still present as a guy. Hosiery, shoes, whatever. Look at Stevie's pics for example, or Moonshadow. Stevie wears tights. Big deal. Moon wears puffball tops. Big deal. Look at Jeff. He does the lot! Still clearly a guy. So you are in the right place.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. All the clothes are femme if we think about it. Skirts, no matter what style are not conventional items in a mans warddobe. I like pencil skirts and the way the cut is. Others prefer different styles. We all have choices, but sometimes we can be quick to criticise each other, driving some away in the process. Just don't wear wigs for a laugh as that's one step too farRay wrote:That's absolutely fine. You still present as a guy. Hosiery, shoes, whatever. Look at Stevie's pics for example, or Moonshadow. To an extent, that's correct, but when you look at some of the photos you see that skirts, coupled with fem tops and fem shoes, and a few dresses, some guys are just a wig and lipstick away from full-on crossdressing. That represents a liberalization of this site, in a way, which is not necessarily bad, just an evolutionary change. It certainly would have been criticized and roundly rejected when I first joined.kilty wrote:Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. All the clothes are femme if we think about it. To me, a wig is sort of like breast inserts. It's meant to give the illusion that our body is something other than what it actually is, I would even go so far as to move such practices beyond casual crossdressing and into full blown transvestism. As for me, that's really not my cup of tea. Which is not to say that I won't eventually grow my hair out (if Nature will allow), but that's not a "falsie", as it's my own hair, I'm not giving the illusion that my body, (or my head) is anything other than what it is. Plus, lots of guys have long hair.
On makeup:
Personally I can see this being a part of men's fashion freedom, and a part of freestyling. Though it's not something I'm into. Makeup has been, and still is worn by many men in many cultures the world over, including western cultures. Many here at the cafe paint our nails, and I personally feel that makeup is another branch of that practice. Makeup isn't really a "falsie" like boob inserts or wigs, so bring it! My wife tried to get me to wear eye liner, something many younger men wear, yet I didn't like the idea of getting the point of the pencil that close to my eye so I refused.
So I personally think wigs might be a little more than what this site is intended for, but I'd encourage a little makeup if someone wanted to give it a go. Just try not to paint yourself like Meme from the Drew Carey show!
