isn't that one as cool as a saxophone playing penguin though?
Careful there mate. If it wasn't for the bog-ugly skirt, the stupid baggy socks, the idiot footwear, the pork-pie hat, and the uniformly-coloured beard, that could (almost) be me.Sarongman wrote:To my mind that looks like a skirted Rabbi(t) leaving the Synagogue![]()
Blow-dried weenie in trousers with a bedspread tied 'round his legs. What's the point?jessimeon wrote:[...]now c'mon that's a cool outfit, not a hint of rabbi
My comment was aimed at Sarongman, not you Jessimeon, and was meant light-heartedly.jessimeon wrote:no insult meant mate i like that outfit i thought it was quite matrix like to be honest, id totally wear that i honestly have been eying that up for a few days, was just joking about with the rabbi thing, i still personally think thats a sleek suit like outfit to be honest with you
The problem with the "fashion industry" is that it seems to be filled with designers who want to fill the audience with "shock and awe" at how potent they are as designers and really don't produce anything that is practical or even workable in a real-world scenario. We've seen skeletal and sullen concentration-camp-survivor guys go down the runways for the past several years and the look has most certainly not caught on; this is the designers masturbating madly (sorry for the crude term) trying to attract attention to themselves without thinking about how a garment might actually be worn or used in real life ("meatspace"). The only conclusion that can be drawn from that is that the designers do not care about the notion and are merely trying (and failing, mind) to use it as shock and awe.yeah i dunno just trying to show that theres a lot of skirts this year coming into the catwalk fashion shows (ala the title of the thread) [...]
There are better photos in this recent thread.JPatrickM wrote:Found this pic and comment in my morning paper this morning. Apologies for the quality of the picture . I had to use a camera, couldn't find it on the web. Looks less far-fetched than most offerings on catwalks. Rather a guarded comment, I thought. Is it to late to wish all a Happy New Year? Patrick
